Product description

Synopsis
Akiane: Her Life, Her Art, Her Poetry by Bruce Larson features the inspired paintings and poems of Akiane Kramanik, who suddenly started painting at the tender age of four, after she proclaimed to her stunned family, “Today I met God”. This child prodigy’s art has been displayed in many exhibitions, and is world famous. The inspired paintings and poems of Akiane, who was born in 1994, have great depth and often prophetic dimensions. Akiane: Her Life, Her Art, Her Poetry by Bruce Larson is a collection of the poems written by this savant onwards from the age of 7, and large photographs of the lifelike paintings made by her from the age of 6. Besides the child prodigy’s art, this book also shares with the reader the atheistic Kramanik family’s journey from doubt and skepticism to faith in the supernatural. Akiane: Her Life, Her Art, Her Poetry by Bruce Larson focuses on her life's vision, which is to share with you the love of God, and challenge you to believe in the divine.

Publisher's Note
"Today I met God." Akiane was just four years old when she made that bold announcement to her formerly faithless family. Needless to say, their lives haven't quite been the same since.
Overwhelmed by her stories of the supernatural, yet unable to find any other explanation for her indisputable artistic ability, the atheistic Kramariks faced a dilemma: either they believe her or remain in skepticism and doubt. "Where God takes me," Akiane explains, "He teaches me to paint."
Akiane's artworks have been in many exhibitions and sell for upwards of one hundred thousand dollars. The paintings are often created in conjunction with a poem. The depth and imagery of her poetry rivals that of a laureate and their meanings at times resound with prophecy.
While most of her time is spent painting and writing about her spiritual experiences, she remains innocently unaffected by the public recognition. Instead, she chooses to focus on her life's vision: to share God's love with the world.

This is a book you don't just buy one of; you make sure to get copies for friends and family! What God has done through this little girl is absolutely breath-taking. There honestly isn't a good enough superlative in the English language to describe her super-human abilities not only in painting, but poetry as well - a true binary savant! She was drawing better than most adults at age four and by six, was painting world-class quality art. She's only 12 right now... imagine her abilities to come! Her poetry contains such abstract, yet wisdom-filled thoughts as to provoke even the strongest minds to stop and ponder their deep meanings. Oh, and all this started at seven years old! What else can I say. You can find more information about Akiane at her website: www . artakaine . com

Amazing story and marvelous art! Loved the poetry too! Quite a great testimony to the existence of God and His glory and power. Had to read the entire thing as soon as possiible! Prophetic art is something I also do, but I am new at it. I see visions and have dreams and hear the Lord tell me what to paint as well. Fascinating! A must read! I have bought extra for gifts for my Christian artistic friends. They will be blown away!!!! Kathie Luther

Akiane by Bruce Larson, Foreli Kramarik (2006)

This book is extraordinary. The narrative is wonderful and takes you on the families' spiritual journey. Akiane, one of the children, is a truly gifted artist and poet. Read her poetry, study her paintings and ponder how one so young could have within her the wisdom and beauty of the ages. Her paintings soothe me and somehow strike a memory in me. I love this book so much that I had to buy seven more copies to give to friends. I may have to buy more.

I came to know of this young Christian girl Akiane and this book via my bible study group. I ordered the book and when I received it I could not put it down as it is very compelling. My wife also has read it and was likewise fascinated. As a result we also bought a few more books as gifts to our children for their families. I also bought one for my niece who is recovering from cancer. We have bcome fans of Akiane and will follow her career. We talk about Akiane whenever we have an opportunity. I recommend this book for the dramatic way that God has chosen to reveal himself to us through this little girl, her faith and her amazing gifts. This book bolsters ones faith and provides hope. Recommended for all ages.
