Aladdin (Sega Genesis, 1993)

Disney really came thru on this adventure title! With true to movie scenes, graphics and midi music, it's quite aesthetically pleasing! It still has play value today, because it literally looks like you're playing the movie. The features are good and simple enough for children. There are even extra levels and jobs to accomplish that don't pertain exactly to the movie. And also quite good side scroll action. I give this a 5/5!

The Sega Genesis of Aladdin is a great game. It is an excellent platformer from Virgin Studios (the same people that made the Lion King game). It has ten levels which are based on the Disney classic and each of them is entertaining and unique in its own way. You have a ranged weapon (throwing apples) and a scimitar (in layman's terms, a sword) that you use to fight guards, skeletons, bats, etc. while avoiding obstacles. If you have not played this game yet I would highly recommend it. There is just something about quality 2D platformers that gives them more replay value than 3D games, at that is true for me.

Hang on to your carpet for action and fun. Aladdin slashes his shining scimitar to fight through Agrabah, escape the Sultan's dungeon, survive the fiery cave of wonders, snatch the genies lamp and save the princess Jasmine from the evil Jafar. (basically you will be playing the first original movie.)
Aladdi battles theives and desert warriors, and barely dodges danger on his high-speed carpet. Survive Jafar's troops for a dash through special bonus rounds.
It is Hilarious! Palace guards drop their drawers and camels spit dirt wads. Aladdin bounces around in the genies lamp like pinball.
It has the original award winning music from the movie too.

What's not to like about Aladdin? The Disney movie is reborn in this 90's classic video game for the Sega Genesis. You play Aladdin and along with your sidekick and best pal, Abu, you travel throughout the city and the desert, collecting items and completing tasks that will ultimately help you defeat your nemesis, Jafar and rescue the love of your life, Princess Jasmine.

The Sega Genesis version of Aladdin is the superior game over the SNES version. The sprite animation looks like it came right out of the movie with fluid animations and all the music is there and sound great!

Fun platformer, challenging levels, and definitely a favorite among Sega Genesis games. The Director of this game moved on to create the Resident Evil series, so it's interesting to see one of his first games.
