Alf - Season 1 (DVD, 2004, Complete 1st Series)

ALF stands for "alien life form," and it becomes the adopted moniker of Gordon Shumway, the last known survivor of the planet Melmac; Gordon crashes his spacecraft into the garage of the Tanner family's suburban home, and is subsequently adopted by them. They must keep him out of the hands of the authorities, however, which means no one can ever know about the alien who lives with the Tanners, giving rise to many hilarious adventures.

This is a great dvd for the whole family. I bought this dvd because I wanted to watch the ALF series once again. The shows are as funny as I remember them and the film quality is excellent. Back in 1986 when the show first came on the air it was something completely different from all other comedies and it still stands out as something unique and has stood the test of time.
If you're a fan of ALF or have heard of him I would suggest picking up this dvd along with the other dvd sets for seasons 2,3 and 4. You won't be disappointed and it will be a nice trip down memory lane for those of you that watched the show when it originally aired. :)

The best part about this set is that Alf talks on each of the menu screens, and he is hilarious! I love Alf, and I love these episodes. There are only two drawbacks, and they may seem contradictory. The first is that the episodes are very short, less than a half hour long each. This means you can watch several episodes at a time, and practically watch the entire set in one night. This is very disappointing for me. The second drawback stems right from the first. Alf is hilarious until you've watched about 4 or 5 episodes. Then, you stop appreciating his humor. My recommendation: watch Alf in small doses to maintain maximum appreciation. Since both of these drawbacks seem more personal than product related, I'm giving Alf season 1 a rating of Excellent. Enjoy!

alf season 1 is very funny. the tv series that ended in 1990 is now in dvd form. from the first eposide when kate let`s alf stay to when while by himself he blows up the house or when everyone acuses him of eating lucky and he then looks every where for lucky and ends up in the dog pound you will be glad you buy season one. hope this helps.

Do you love tripping down memory lane? If so, you will certainly enjoy Alf - Season 1. So very campy, but so much fun. Hours of pure entertainment. You do not know if you will be rolling on the floor with laughter or groaning over the sheer insanity of it all. I bought it because I wanted it all. Alf - Season 1 leaves you wanting more of that crazy & nutty alien. I think everyone should have their very own Alf!
