Product Information
The Wonderland that you knew from childhood has gone horribly wrong ... again. This is the follow-up to designer American McGee's twisted take on the classic Lewis Carroll tale. Designed with the same dark style of the original, but now featuring entirely new visuals, story and game design, Alice: Madness Returns follows Alice on a journey through a wildly corrupted and shattered Wonderland to uncover the truth behind her haunted past and tortured psyche. Alice: Madness Returns takes place 10 years after the conclusion of the original game, with Alice struggling to recover from the emotional trauma of losing her entire family in a fatal fire. After spending a decade institutionalized in an insane asylum, she is finally released to the care of a psychiatrist who just may be able to help her conquer the nightmarish hallucinations that still haunt her. Alice embarks on a mission to root out the true cause of her family's mysterious death, jumping from a gloomy and stark London to a rich and provocative Wonderland.

Great platforming game with stunning visuals and battle system, awsome

Game was just amazing with both gameplay and graphics along with the infolding of the story. Althou there are a few bugs such as Alice getting stuck in place, example she stops walking and can spin around but wont move unless you jump to shake of the glitch. sometimes the game wont read on the action sequences on button press but there really minor and nothing really that would ruin your experiance. the battle system is just great having several weapons in your arsenal that you can change any tiime into as well as upgrading them and chaging looks on diff domains. the game though is mostly platforming and fighting, such as activated this swicht here to get to here as well as finding hidden items that are fun to find and a challenges to complete. there are a lack of bosses as the only boss would be the final boss although no spoilers of course but thats it about it for that category. whats also great about this game is that it offers the first game "American Mcgee's Alice" as a bonus download for free, which is great for those who missed how the story started since that game was exclusive on the PC. Overall if your a fan of the first game or just love platforming than i recommend this game, it offers great gameplay with stunning visuals and the classic characters with love.

I purchased Alice: Madness Returns after being a fan of the original PC American McGee's Alice, and to be honest I haven't been let down in the newest addition to the series.

While Alice: Madness returns doesn't have cutting edge graphics to compete with the other games currently coming out, the visuals are a wonderful step into Wonderland as one would expect. A huge improvement on the original gives much of a fantasy feel, and much of the appeal also comes into the storybook likeness that the cut scenes in the game have, which are very reminecent to the original Alice of Wonderland depictions.

The game play is quite basic, nothing to difficult, even if you're new to video games. And, while the game is more on the mature side of things, it is appropriately rated Mature for blood and gore, sexual themes, language, and violence, but nothing I would consider to be distasteful.

The added plus to the game, is the download code to play the original American McGee's Alice on the PS3. It's a direct port of the original, it seems, and admittidly the controls are more clunky than I imagined compared to the point-and-click feeling of the original on PC, but I'm sure it'll be easily adjusted to once I finally sit down and play back through it on the console version.

Alice: Madness Returns is definetly a fun addition to any Alice fans looking for something to curb their Wonderland appetite, with great visuals and interesting storyline. If you enjoyed the first game, you'll love Alice: Madness Returns.

So many people have found so much fault with this game. I, on the other hand love it! It's fairly easy to control, the graphics are spectacular & the sound is wonderful. Lots of great options & weapons too. You can shrink down to go through small holes, & lets you see invisible platforms. Jumping & moving on them can be treacherous, and seeing your character walk & slide on air is very cool! I really have no complaints!

The game includes a code to get a free copy of the original Alice PC game from the Playstation Network. This game can is SO annoying in parts. Biggest problem - when you push the 'jump' button, it takes the game at least a half-second to respond. Doesn't sound like much, but it's horrid. Obviously, you must see it for what it is - an old PC game from 2000, but you think they could've cleaned it up a bit.
