Allman Brothers Band, The - Live at Great Woods (DVD, 1998)

Horrible DVD, for the following reasons:
1. Case lists running time as 90 minutes. This is absolutely false - it runs 55 minutes
2. Three songs are interrupted with interviews (what were the editors thinking?), with the songs then truncated
3. The last song, Whiping Post, is played while the credits roll, and the song is shortened.
4. Camera work is clumsy at times (how hard is it to see who the soloist is, and then to focus on that person? (see Midnight Rider))

If you buy DVDs for the music, as I do, then this DVD is definitely NOT for you (although I've heard that the VHS version was different and much better). If the music is secondary and you like interviews, buy it. But I wish I'd read the reviews on other websites first and not wasted my money.

What a great concert DVD, no Ramblin' Man, but the film makes up for it with excellent song selection and insight from the band members on particular song titles. I highly recommend this DVD.

I bought this dvd for my husband for valentine's day. I had been looking for a dvd with The Allman Brothers Band and of course I found it on ebay. Very pleased withe dvd my husband enjoys watching it.
