Alps MD 1300 Digital Photo Thermal Printer

Out of 5 Photographic quality printers that I have, the Alps MD-1300 is by far the Best ever, quality wise. Printing speed might be slower than some other brands but the colors do not run, fade, smear or wash off if wet. The Alps MD-1300 will even print on Vinyl Graphic materials like those HIGH Priced Printers and if attached to a cutter, you can cut out the local decal shop and make your own designs. Hard to find the cartridges but I've been told that there are other make cartridges that will work on the Alps.

Printing white and metallics with this printer is a very unique benefit. Plus the inks are archive-grade!

Also, this md 1300 lets you do dye-sublimation w/o the key like the alps 5000, so I'd say this truely is the best unit for the money.

I purchased this Alps MD series printer as a core for a refurbished unit. If you send in an MD1300 along with $350.00 you will get an MD 5000 printer in the exchange program. Alps is discontinuing support for these MD printers March 31 2007, and I have a home based decal business. I am stocking up on the refurbished units for the time when this happens. I have also purchased large quantitys of ink cartridges for this machine. The seller advertised that he had not used it in afew years and did not know for sure if it worked or not. This is exactly what I am looking for to purchase whole machines for exchange units. The "I have not used it for a few words gave it away, that it was a junk -core unit. It good for me to buy ther cheap non working machines to stock up on refurbed units for my home based business.

The alps 1300 md is the best of both worlds . It has the features of the 5000 md with the key ALPS 5000(P),so you can use the blue alps cartridges . You can print's pictures as well as the features of the 1000 md . which are great for decals . It's prints in white like the alps 1000MD , amd 5000 md.

These printers are the best for their money. This is basically a 1000, with the Dye sub feature. Rated at 1200 dpi, for the money you can't go wrong.Takesall the md cartridges except for the foils.
