Amcor 14000 Portable Air Conditioner

I purchased the Amcor 14000 portable air conditioner for three reasons. 1)To be able to cool my whole house, which is only 700 sq.ft. and 2)Because of it's portability and 3)Because the unit is supposed to be compatable to any 110v outlet. Unfortunately, it only works with one of my outlets in my house without it kicking off the circuit breaker, and it doesn't cool even half of the house.
My expectations might have been too high.

I have owned the Amcor 14000 Portable A/C for nearly 8 weeks. The control panel goes blank, while the unit is running. When this happens there is no way to control unit, as none of the controls respond to commands. It must be unplugged and left sitting for 30 minutes or so, then it operates again. One day, I imagine it may not restart. This has happened four times since new. The unit is very loud, and does not have the ability to cool my 225 sq.ft. bedroom (15 x 15 ft.). When set at 65 degrees it cools to 79 in the heat of the day, and 74 in early morning(3AM), after the sun is long gone. This is the first portable A/C unit that I have owned, and it seems, for the price I paid, should have functioned better than this.

It worked fine when I first got it, but once the water filled and the unit stopped we had to drain it. Normally this wouldn't happen except that we had a lot of humid weather. Anyway, I drained the unit and turned it back on. The fan worked for a few hours. When I changed it to cool and put it on high it turned off. Then every once in a while it would turn on and the numbers on the display would go down...then it would turn off again. I spent 400.00 on this and only used it for about 6 weeks. VERY DISAPPOINTED. I called the 1-800 number for the company..someone else bought out Amcor..I can't remember who. Anyway, called the 1-800 number and was on hold. Was told that I was second in line...then my call would be answered next...when my call was answered, I got an answering machine...NICE right? Anyway...wish there was a way to return this but unfortunately I'm out 400.00.

Spent several days shopping the internet for a portable air conditioner. This product seemed to have a lot to offer at a reasonable price. It is working great and is appealing to the eye. I made a great choice.

Cools great remote control 2 speeds plus automatic. you set temperture.

Unit virbates when compressor kicks in causing a noiticeble noise. This is outweighed by its ability to cool an large room.
