) I bought this unit to use to heat and cool a 12x16 room, since it is cooler weather now I will have to wait and see how it cools but I can say now that this unit is not much for heating a room...the fan can not be controlled in the heat mode so all you get is plenty of air with very little heat, the air blowing makes you feel even colder so my advice is do not buy this unit thinking it is going to keep you warm..it is not! Hopefully the 16k rated cooling capacity will do a good job of cooling next summer...will see.
July 9, 2009 update: The unit does a great job cooling our Sun Room, in fact we have to keep bumping up the temp setting so we don't get too cold...even in the 90's ! I am very pleased with this item!
