Hilariously Funny...in a Family Guy kind of way
Created: 29/05/06
Stan Smith, who works for the CIA and is constantly on the alert for terrorist activity. Stan will go to extremes to protect his beloved America from harm; as evidenced by the terror-alert color code on his fridge, and his frequent knee-jerk reaction of shooting holes in the toaster whenever the toast pops up. In addition to Stan's wife and teenage children, the Smith household has two rather unconventional members. There's Roger, the sarcastic space alien who rescued Stan from Area 51 who deeply resents the fact that he's not allowed to leave the house, and therefore, has been reduced to drinking wine and smoking cigarettes, and Klaus, a lascivious, German-speaking goldfish; the result of a CIA experiment gone seriously wrong where the CIA tried to give a fish a German man's brain. Stan's son is a dorky teenager who tries to be cool. His wife has had a past life of sex and drugs and loves to flaunt it at the most inopportune times.

American Dad Season 1 - A Great Show!
Created: 02/04/09
American Dad season 1 is the beginning to a great series. It stars Stan Smith, a CIA agent who goes through various shenanigans. He has a loving wife (Francine) and two children: Haley, a liberal activist and Steve, a quirky nerd. The Smiths also have two family "pets". One is a talking fish named Klaus. He speaks with a German accent because he was captured by the CIA and his brain was put into a fish's body. Now the the Smiths keep his as a lovable house pet. There is also Roger, an alien that the Smiths house in their attic who loves to watch TV and drink booze. Roger has a passion for disguises, which help him interact safely with the general public at times. Altogether, the Smiths are an entertaining bunch who ALWAYS learn a lesson at the end of each episode. I would recommend this not only to anyone who enjoys Seth MacFarlane's other hit series "Family Guy", but also to anyone who enjoys sitcoms. This definitely has a load of laughs and is an enjoyable show. I can't wait to buy season 2!

I Wasn't A Fan...
Created: 09/07/10
Honestly, in the beginning I wasn't much of an American Dad fan.
As a Family Guy purist, I scoffed at two episodes and didn't bother giving the series a chance.
After realizing I needed to grow up (a South Park vs Family Guy vs The Simpson's argument erupted at home) ... I figured I needed to give it another go.
I was amused to say the least. It's a bit more subtle in its comedy and Roger is pure class. Although I think the later seasons are much better- I understand they needed to get into their groove. I appreciate American Dad and bought the first season to show my support.
I'm clearly behind though- I need to purchase MOAR.

This is a great gift idea for people in their 20/30's who enjoy political satire and poking fun at American values and popular culture. I got this DVD of cartoons along with Family Guy as my graduation gift. It comes with an extra DVD of bonus material. My favorite episode is a two part cartoon that is called STAN of ARABIA in which Stan, our American Dad, burns his family's passports and takes another wife he calls Thundercat because he can't pernounce her real name! Ha! The DVD is full of catchy tunes and big musical dance numbers. This is a winner! Buy it! You'll love it!

THE ALL NATRAUL REPLACEMENT FOR FUTRAMA!
Created: 03/06/06
I am deployed so my package has not gotten here yet. BUT I do know that the seires is AWSOME! Its funny and on edge like Family Guy, but sorta twisted like Furtrama. The Dad is a CIA agent always getting in to trouble at work, usually bringing his family along for the ride (including an Alien and A German speaking Goldfish, who strangly enough is in Love with The Dads (Franks)Wife).
