Amethyst by Lauraine Snelling (2005, Paperback)

I have read the previous books in this series and had been looking forward to the final book in the series. It did not disappoint. It was very well written. The characters introduced in the previous installments held true to thier character. New characters were thoroughly introduced and developed. The only downside to the book is that you are left wanting to know how the next few years will play out for the characters.

Amethyst wants children and you don't know if her wish will come true. I would also have liked more closure with her father.

The author obviously did her research into the early manufacturing of lotions and soaps. She also was well versed on the workings of western ranches and cattle operations.

In closing, I would definitely recommend this book and the entire series to anyone who love Christian historical romance.

Every book in this series is great! The first three books in the series follow three differnt women but they have been weaved through the entire series. But then I came to the fourth book, Amyethyst. I thought "Where could she possibly go with this, all the main female characters have been highlighted already". I was delighted to find a new leading lady brought to light and a whole new setting! It all worked together very nicely. Hip Hip Hurray for Lauraine Snelling!

I loved these series of books. Wish they would keep going on forever. I really got to know and love these people. Almost wish I was there.

This book has plenty of conflict and romance. It is a classic example of Snelling at her best. If you want a good read and a trip to the Dakota Territory of the late 1800's than this book is for you.

Amethyst is one of a series in the Dakotah Treasures series. Since we only had one of this series in the church libary, I found this on e-bay as I could not find it elsewhere.
