Movie synopsis

ANGER MANAGEMENT, directed by Peter Segal, looks into the life of Dave Buznik (Adam Sandler), an executive assistant at a pet clothing company. The mild-mannered but overly passive Dave is in love with his girlfriend, Linda (Marisa Tomei), yet his anxious personality keeps him from taking things further, both in their relationship and in his career. However, Dave's life takes a strange turn when he is wrongly accused of "air rage" on a flight and sentenced to mandatory anger management classes. Eccentric anger guru Buddy Rydell (Jack Nicholson) becomes Dave's therapist, but when Buddy abruptly moves in with Dave, the doctor-patient relationship takes an unusual turn.An appropriate pairing of actors with oversized personalities, ANGER MANAGEMENT allows Nicholson to run amuck, while letting Sandler hone the mellower side of his cinematic presence. As Sandler's Dave becomes more bewildered at his predicament, Nicholson's Buddy teeters wildly between wise and rambunctious. Meanwhile, Tomei (who apparently gets more attractive as she gets older) shines in her role as Dave's beloved. Of course, no mainstream Sandler movie would be complete without a number of familiar faces in supporting and cameo roles, and ANGER has them by the boatload. John Turturro steals every scene he's in; Luiz Guzman sports some remarkably unfortunate facial hair; Heather Graham shows up as a brownie-hurling blonde bombshell; and John C. Reilly appears as a bully-turned-Buddhist-monk. And to top it all off, there are cameos by renowned "angry" sports figures Bobby Knight and John McEnroe, as well as the esteemed former mayor of NYC, Rudy Giuliani.

It's like a fender-bender you feel the need to...

...stop and watch, even though nothing is really going on - that's what I think about the film 'Anger Mgmt' - as a matter of fact, my wife tried to stop watching more than a few times and yet was compelled to sit and watch to see what ridiculously stupid and completely unrealistic thing would happen next - kind of like listening to Howard Stern.
It's not that the film is that bad - it's just not nearly as funny as I had hoped it would be, but then I guess I'm one of the few people that doesn't think that Adam Sandler is really that funny most of the time - although I have not seen several of Sandler's movies, so far the only Adam Sandler film that I thought was truly and originally funny was his 1996 hockey/golf comedy 'Happy Gilmore' - but his 2002 remake-film 'Mr. Deeds' was an insult to good cinema in general, and much of his comedy is just way too lowest-common-denominator oriented for me - even his 'Saturday Night LIVE' stuff never really caught my attention like the great stuff of many of his SNL predecessors, such as Belushi, Murray, and Murphy.
...but fans of Jack Nicholson, of which I am one, will probably enjoy his kooky role as the anger mgmt specialist...and Marisa Tomei is lovely, as usual...and the members of the anger mgmt therapy group are a bonus, with most of the best laughs provided by the actors playing the therapy group's odd bunch of anger-possessed nut-jobs, like Luis Guzman('Boogie Nights') and John Turturro('The Color of Money')... Just try and control your anger if 'Anger Management' doesn't deliver all the laughs you had hoped for.
If you're a Sandler fan, Enjoy!

my very favorite Jack Nicholson movie . Great action , plot was superb . Complete surprise at the end . Adam Sandler played his role wonderfully , He is one of my favorites because he can play hysterically funny roles with as much passion as he does serious scenes . Overall 5 stars

Anger Management (2003, DVD)

I actually saw this at the movies prior to the DVD being released. The message this movie brings to mind was done in such a humorous way, that many of the 'going ons' from the movie have stuck with me. Director Steven Segal did a wonderful job. The plot is very good and the acting by both Jack Nicholson and Adam Sandler are extremely well executed. David Dorfman has many great ideas when writing the script for this comedy. I enjoyed the movie and would recommend it to any one.

A fun movie for a serious subject

Created: 05/08/07
Anger Management is a funny movie about a subject that might be a serious issue for some of us. Who never felt the blood coming to the head when something goes wrong or somebody gets us disappointed? Of course I didn't expect a serious approach when a movie is starred by Adam Sandler, and judging by the DVD cover, I could only expect to have some good laughs. Honestly, I laughed a lot.

It jokes with situations that might be familiar to some of us and in the end teaches us that nothing is so bad that can't be overcomed. If a good movie is one on which we recognize ourselves watching it, even in the most ridiculous and lame situations, then for me this is a stupendous one! Go get yours!

I Feel Pretty!

Created: 14/10/06
This is one of my favorite Adam Sandler movies. It's so different from anything else that I've seen before, it's really original.

Both Adam Sandler and Jack Nicholson give great performances. Jack definitely knows how to play a crazy person well. It's the perfect role for him, I can't see anyone else playing it better.

This is the perfect movie for any Adam Sandler fan, or any comedy fan. This will have you roaring with laughter the whole way through.
