) This text is great for shaker collectors because the author provides a bit of information about the history of shakers as well as terrific information on how to identify reproductions of certain antique glass shakers and other figural shakers. Many other shaker guides provide only page after page of amateur photos and outdated prices without any useful information. The photos in Moran's guide are fabulous, professional, well-lit close-ups with bright colors. This guide by Mark Moran is well put together and worth buying.

) This is a great little book, packed with great pictures and complete history and descriptions of collectible salt and pepper shakers. Too bad they do not cover ALL of the salt and pepper shakers that are in existence -- that would be crazy though, the book would weigh 100 pounds! Great book; Thanks!

) I have wanted to collect salt and pepper shakers for some time now. My husband has been on e-bay collecting parts for my gremlin so I decided to just look one day and was overwhelmed with what was here. So I decided to start getting some. I wanted something to go by and make sure that I am getting something good and have been amazed with the book as far as what is out there. There are so many shakers out there some worth alot and some that are not, but am still interested in collecting them. My husband is enjoying what I am doing and gets excited when the packages come. I am glad there are things out there like this I have truly enjoyed the book and collecting the shakers.

I this book for my mother who has been a salt and pepper shaker collector for years.She loves the book.It outlines prices of some sets,and why the prices are the way they are.Tht book also explains some things that make certain shakers worth more than others.A great book for collectors.
