Sweet game for the Mech lovers.

    Created: 05/10/07
Its a great game for a mech fan. Although it doesnt have as many parts as the previous game, it quickly makes up for it with the detail, graphics, full customization, and new features such as the quick boost. Also it has online capabilities, so you can prove your superiority amongst other pilots. The game itself is relatively short, with a great many missions not lasting to long if your a great player. Newcomers will love the controls, the weapons, the designs, mission, and ofcourse, your own self made mech, which you can customize again anytime (outside of missions). You can have a tank mech with heavy weapons like grenade launchers, or a lightweight mech with machine guns, many possibilities with almost no restricition, with the only restriction being that when customizing an ac, beware that the mech isnt to heavy loaded with guns with the wrong type of legs, or your mech will slow down. To much energy consumption will make your mech generator charge fill up more slowly. The game is known for its realism, obviously if you have a lightweight mech, and you have too many heavy weapons, your going to slow down. Stabilizers have also been added to adjust the weight of your mech, since using a heavy left shoulder weapon would make your mech turn or boost faster to the left, the stabilizers add counter weight, so you can boost around normally, without an advantage on one side and disadvantage on another, or you can add more weight and make your boosting to one side a great advantage (Although eventually you may find that this may be a weakness.)

For control, weapon schemes, parts, customization, and realism, its a great game to try out and play , if your not a mech fan, this game may get you into the genre. Its absolutely worth renting, I found it worth buying, and if you give the game a test spin, you may like it very much as well.

    This game is horrible

This game is an insult to the AC series. All through the PS2 games, AC was turning into a game that took more and more skill to play, and even more skill level to design.

Now in AC4 they just tossed that all away. It doesn't take much to make a design that can beat players whom have played the series for years, which is sort of sad.

The single player is fun. But the online play is pathetic. Almost everyone has the same design. And the winner is no longer the best player. Instead the person that win is the one with the most overpowered mech or who has the worst internet connection which causes a lag that doesn't allow your hits to damage the other player, while at the same time they can damage you.

    More Armored Core

    Created: 07/09/08
If you liked the previous Armored Core games (I have 2 and 3), you'll undoubtedly enjoy this one. The same familiar controls and gameplay style with revamped graphics will make it easy to jump right in and enjoy the heck out of it.
For players new to the AC game series, the handling of your armored core is not hard to get the hang of. After the tutorial and one or two missions, you'll be blazing around like nobody's business.
Customizing your unit's design, color scheme, and individual parts (head, body, weapons, leg-type, etc.) will offer plenty of gameplay alone. For those who don't really care much about customizing their vehicle (but really, who doesn't?), it's simple to play right through with one of the default designs, though you may want to at least upgrade armor and weapons occasionally. =)
Overall, this game is (in my opinion) going to be most rewarding for previous players of the series, but as I noted, it'll still be awesome for anyone who's never even heard of Armored Core. Good luck!

Armored Core 4 is it better than previous Armored Cores

    Created: 15/09/09
The short answer is yes! Now you may ask what is my reasoning that brings me to this conclusion? Obviously much like you would expect the graphics are vastly improved! But the best part for me was the fact that you can control your AC with both joysticks instead of just with the one and the shoulder buttons. I think that is a long over due upgrade to the series! Game play is pretty much the same so if you are a fan of the series you won't be disappointed in that regard. The custom paint jobs are even better than the previous Armored Cores. Which say's a lot to me because I've always enjoyed making my AC look like I want it. Then adding the weapons I want to it!

The negatives or at least the negatives for me anyway are as follows:

First off I didn't like how they put a boundary that counts as being out of the combat area when you are using your jump jets to fly. I personally had a few times where I was flying to avoid incoming shots and I ended up flying out of the area and having to restart the mission. That can get frustrating fast if you do it a few times.

Secondly I think the difficulty level isn't high enough! There's a little learning curb in the Arena battles but once you figure it out it's pretty easy to win evry arena battle.

So overall it's a good game but maybe with the difficulty not being as touch as I like it to be; made it a little shorter game than I would have wanted it to be!
