I love old movies, especially those with Cary Grant-- Arsenic and Old Lace is no exception!
While visiting his 2 spinster aunts, Mortimer Brewster (Cary Grant) finds a man's body in their living room window seat. Mortimer immediatly thinks his crazy cousin, Teddy (who thinks he is Theodore Roosevelt), has murdered the man. What ensues is a hilarious, but dark comedy as Mortimer discovers the truth about his family and what they have buried in the cellar; all while his new bride is waiting for him to take her to Niagra Falls.
To further complicate matters, Mortimer's psychotic brother Jonathan (Raymond Massey)has escaped from an insane asylum. He shows up with his side kick Dr. Einstein (Peter Lorre) and they want to hide a body of their own.
In my opinion, this is one of Grant's best performances. John Alexander, who plays Teddy was exellent and provides great comic relief. A must see for any old movie buff!

Classic Movie - Well worth watching - Great Comedy
Created: 09/12/07
Classic movie is in black and white. Very funny movie about two sisters that poison their male callers and bury them in the basement. With a brother that thinks he is Teddy Roosevelt, their nephew (played by Cary Grant) has to deal with the dead bodies, a nutty uncle, and the police while trying to stop his Aunts from killing more people. One of the best movies of all time and a real classic. Would highly recommend that anyone watch it. Give it a try, you just might die laughing!

This is a true classic! Laughter at its best. Never knew that Cary Grant could carry an entire movie on his facial expressions. Peter Lore also extremely funny. A newlywed finds out that his aunts are "hiding" dead bodies in there B&B. A comedy for the whole family, young and old. It was great sharing it with my children and showing them that there doesnt have to be tons of foul language, lots of blood and nudity to make a movie worth watching. Quality of this ebayers movie are phenomenal. So what, no case! Who needs one for these prices!

A wonderful, laugh out loud love story. Always been one of My favorites and now My grown up Son has been caught in its web . This is one of those movies that both Men and Women enjoy. If You thought 'When Harry met Sally' was funny then You have never seen 'Arsnic and Old Lace'.With crazy Aunts and an even crazier Uncle trying to help Mortimer(Cary Grant)celebrate His Wedding day its just not a good time to discover all those people in the cellar, nor how they got there.A classic for any age group.
