The Art of Painting Animals on Rocks by Lin Wellford (1994, Paperback)

I have Grandkids that love animals and rocks. With practice, this book should help me make them all very happy. I have bought 3 other Lin Wellford "rock painting" books and am anxious to get started. They are all very well written and easy to understand and follow. I should have ever thing that doesn't move outside, painted in no time. I did a few One Stroke calsses and the instructor had us use different mediums and I loved the rock painting class. An easy, inexpensive way to decorate the garden, actually the whole outdoors. Would recomment the line of books if you want to do something fun and rewarding.

This is a great book with wonderful pictures and easy to understand. My family and I had a blast hunting for rocks to paint on. With anything else, practice, practice, practice. If your hunting a fun way to get into painting this may be the way your looking for. A few acrylics, a very few brushes and a rock. No expensive canvas, and other equipment like easels to buy. Lin Wellford has tried very hard to explain the details of painting on rocks to painters as well as the folks who have never painted anything before. Great book for beginners!!

Lin Wellford is a great teacher who breaks these projects down so that anyone, of any skill level, can paint. I highly recommend this book for anyone with small children or for teachers to use in art classes. I can't imagine a more artistic affordable activity for a classroom than painting on rocks! I wanted to start a Stone menagerie in my yard, and ended up teaching kids how to paint turtles and ladybugs to ebb the summer boredom. Great book check it out.

Being a artist , I decided to branch out and tried painting animals on rocks.I loved it and was very successful at selling them. This was one of my favorite books, and after losing everything in Katrina, I am attempting to replace my art books.I would recomend this book to anyone wishing to try something new. Victoria

A great step by step book, easy to follow. Paintings turn out like the pictures in the book.I highly recommend this book for someone wanting to learn to become a great painting artist.
