Assassins/The Specialist (DVD, 2006)

A two pack of Sylvester Stallone here. In Assassins, Stallone plays a veteran
hit man named Robert Rath who is looking to get out of the business when he
meets young, eager competitor Miguel Bain (Antonio Banderas) who has Rath at the top of his "to hit" list. Rath takes one last job, but complications ensue
when he falls in love with his mark Electra (Julianne Moore). Bain sets out to murder Rath and Electra, and the hit leads the assassins on a deadly chase from Seattle to Puerto Rico. The Specialist is a movie shot in Miami and
Stallone plays an ex-CIA munitions expert known as the Specialist. He meets
a determined and beautiful woman (Sharon Stone) who is seeking revenge against the mob family (Rod Steiger, Eric Roberts) who killed her parents. When the two of them join forces, it end up being alot of bang and explosiveness-in more
ways than one. The steamy Stallone/Stone shower scene is a classic of 1990 s
cinematic erotica. Two good movies to fill an evening with in this pack-definitely recommended!

This combo set delivers great action and a fantastic chance to see some great movies back to back, The specialist doesn't have the draw of other movies but it holds its on durign the 90's era.

Assasins pairs two good actors in an action packed thriller that delivers in all the right places. I'm a huge fan of Antonio Banderas and this movie seems to be cut from the same thread as Desperado (although Desperado was by far better).

If you enjoy Stallone (as I do), both of these movies will peak your interest. Both have plenty of action and body counts for the men, and romantic, mushy stuff for the fairer sex. Assassins has more high intensity, but The Specialist is cool and calculating. Both Woods and Banderas play real nasty villains. And The Specialist gives you a view of Sharon Stone you've never seen before. Enjoy! grandorb.

What is it about a man with a gun and the possibility of redemption? No matter how hard he tries to stay out of it he just winds up right smack in the middle of it. As far as Sylvester Stallone is concerned he isn't one of my favorite actors but these two movies just kind of stick with me. Like i said what is it about a man with a gun and the possibility of redemption.
I would gladly recommend these movies to anyone that likes the actors involved or just likes a good old fashioned action flick.
Just be careful who you root for.

I bought these movies because I love Sylvester stalone. Great action films. If you love Stalone movies or action films, you will love these two movies.
