ASUS VH232H 23" LCD Monitor - Black

I'm using it as a secondary monitor on my MacBookPro.

It's not the best monitor in the world, but it's VERY affordable --and if you hook it up using the proper digital cabling it'll give you a decent picture.

However, I was unable to create an accurate color profile on this display. The black to white contrast ratio is subpar. Luckily, for the purposes I'm using it for, color accuracy is not required.

If you want or need a monitor that renders decent colors, forget this. If that's not a requirement, then you can save a lot of cash with this product.

This monitor just looks awesome. I'm not an artist, so my eye isn't that of a pro, but I got this Asus monitor to add as a second display to my computer, and it looks so much more clear and bright than the first monitor I had (22" High-Def HP). Now I want to replace my other monitor with another one of these Asus VH232H displays so I can have 2 of them. Displays have gotten so inexpensive these days in general, but it's definitely worth a couple extra bucks to get one of these Asus displays over some other, cheaper brands. Only reason for the 4/5 rating is that the height isn't adjustable and it doesn't swivel - tilt only. These extras aren't features I need, but I can see them being beneficial to other people.

It is a great monitor for the price though I couldn't get the speakers to work at all. Also I put two different hdmi cords in it and it always had a dark border around the screen which I couldn't get rid of. But they are just minor problems. It still worked well with my video card and projected in excellent quality.

I have no regrets about the 23 inch ASUS monitor. The only problem is that it makes my other monitors look small and dull. The price was a bargain. My college son works in the IT department at his university and he suggested I look for an ASUS because they have a good reputation. Good advice.
