    Publisher's Note
Atomic Ranch is an in-depth exploration of post-World War II residential architecture in America. Mid-century ranches (1946-1970) range from the decidedly modern gable-roofed Joseph Eichler tracts in the San Francisco Bay area and butterfly wing houses in Palm Springs, Florida, to the unassuming brick or stucco L-shaped ranches and split-levels so common throughout the United States.

    Atomic Ranch ~ A Must-Have for Mid-Century Modern Fans

    Created: 03/07/08
I love Atomic Ranch magazine, so I had to have the book. There's absolutely nothing about it to dislike. This could well be the definitive mid-century modern bible for experts and novices alike. The book is full of gorgeous pictures of post-WWII homes across the country, giving the reader not only a chance to study the architecture, but to get design ideas from the interiors as well. I highly recommend this book to anyone who has an interest in mid-century modern or Palm Springs style.

There really aren't too many good picture-books out there on mid-century architecture. But even if there were, I think this book would still come out on top. Great pics of a variety of homes inside and out....some restored to period, and some to funky. Great stories about each house, too.

I was very satisfied; it was spot on. I'd recommend this book to ranch home enthusiasts as well as those who aren't quite sure if that's the way to go in their next choice of living space. Very informative; great photos!!
