Movie synopsis
The children's cable network Nickelodeon fashions an American spin on Japanese anime with their original series AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER. On a futuristic Earth torn between the warring elements of Air, Earth, Water, and Fire, only one special being known as the Avatar can bring peace to the conflicted planet. The trouble is, the Avatar is an immature 12-year-old boy called Aang, who would rather wander the world having fun-filled adventures than settle down and face his heroic destiny. AVATAR ably blends kids-oriented comedy with martial-arts action-adventure worthy of its Japanese counterparts. This collection presents the first series in its entirety for a total of 20 episodes.

) Story draws in children and adults alike. Don't expect disney-like beauty in the landscape, but do expect to love the characters, their adventures and the message of the goodness of fun in life that underscores these adventures.

Nickelodeon's best work

This ia a great series to get into. It is indeed worth getting the other two box sets. In fact, I would encourage it in order to follow along with the storyline.

Got it for my daughter for Christmas, Quality seems fine, she said you can't go right to the menu when you put it in (they want you to watch all the previews)but she just kept clicking through them until she got to the menu. On the bright side when she came back later to watch it it started where she left off. She seems to like it so all is well!
