Awaken the Giant Within encourages taking control of ones life to promote positive change. Robbins has read extensively on human development and has rolled many worthwhile concepts into his book. He explores topics including belief systems, how to change, positive decision making, destroying blocks to success and more. This book gives a good overview of how to take better control of one's like.

The reading is quick, but he could have been somewhat less verbose and get the same points across. Then again, it is a relatively minor point if this is what is needed to motivate people to take control of their lives.

Although interesting, Robbin's book did not change me significantly. Almost all of his concepts can be found in other sources. However, Robbins work has helped many people a great deal...and it would be unwise to argue with this success!

I love buying books on ebay. They are incredibly cheap! I'll probably never pay retail for a book again. This is the 3rd book I've bought since becoming an ebayer last year.

Why did I decide to buy this book: I was looking for a good uplifting book for my brother-in-law who has some serious self-esteem issues. I first went to the 'Dog, the Bounty hunter' site because I thought Dewayne Chapman's life story was a good example of how you can turn your life around. He has not written anything and there wasn't anything on Mr. Chapman's life but the site claimed that this book- Awaken the Giant Within references Dewayne Chapman's accomplishment. I came straight to the ebay web site to see if anyone was selling this book and was able to purchase it!

The only thing negative I can say is that it doesn't look like I will be able to get this book to my brother-in-law. I mailed it to him and it has been returned :(
I may have to wait until I see him.
