This movie was about J.C. Wyatt a woman who was an executive living in the big city of New York. Even though she was extremely self-sufficient and successful she never thought she would inherit a baby from a cousin she hadn't seen in years. At first she thought about giving up Elizabeth but she soon grew attached to her and motherhood took over. The owner where she worked soon found her to be consumed with being a mother and was no longer the “tiger lady” who got things done, he gave her account to an ambitious, calculative and greedy young man she was mentoring. J.C. Wyatt quit the company and moved to Vermont with Elizabeth where she bought a house. What started out as a problem turned out to be the best thing she could've done when living in the country was something she grew to love. She had the last laugh when she became an entrepreneur and no longer needed to rely on someone looking over her. I bought this movie because I've seen it before and wanted to own it. This is a wonderful movie for the entire family to be seen over and over again. I would definitely recommend it as part of your collection. Things are never what they seem and though some people think that money and prestige is everything in life, J.C. Wyatt found tranquility, peace of mind and love living somewhere she probably never dreamed of.

Laugh Out Loud Comedy! Wonderful Entertainment!

Hilarious, funny, well written, beautifully acted, and very credible film.

Speaking as a Vermonter, but still considered by native Vermonters after 41 yrs. of residence here, a 'flatlander', I cannot tell you how true to life this film is. Life is different here. You choose this life style, and it grows on you. But life is very different here. And the screen writer for, "Baby Boom" has it down pat. Extremely well written, and superbly acted by all the characters in the film, "Baby Boom" is a howling success. Keaton, Sam Shepard, and baby are well casted. The scene where Keaton goes to the local doctor for a physical is one of the funniest scenes on film. "Baby Boom" is full of pathos, warm humor, deep feelings, and life affirming spirit. It is a jewel of a film in a market of hi-tech mediocrity. Buy it, and then, cherish it.

Love, Love, Love "Baby Boom".

BABY BOOM One of my all time favs...

Life is full of change and we must adapt... And so does Diane Keaton, as she "inherits" an unexpected gift from a distant relative and takes a bold step - out on a limb. She finds her footing and ultimately redefining her priorities. In this time of change it is as timely a story as any... Love Keaton's comedic timing and her believable metamorphosis from one life phase to another. I decided I needed this for my own DVD collection b/c no matter how many times I have seen it - it is still funny and has great charm.

Baby Boom

The movie "Baby Boom" is, in my opinion, a total classic. It represents the omnipresent single-female Yuppie of the 80s. Being the mother of 3 sons, combined with being a "professional" woman in the work force, this movie really hits home with me. About a single woman who becomes a "mother" overnight, it shows truly the ups and downs and trying to have it all while being an American woman. Done in a humoristic style, it is down-to-earth, and yet challenges facing actual truths and decisions that real women have to face. A MUST SEE movie for any woman who is a mother, career woman, or BOTH.

Good movie. This is what every New York single business women wants to be left by a relative they have only met a few times. Who would think it would change her life so much. Checking the baby at the coat check is pretty good.
