Backyardigans Music Player Storybook by Christine Ricci (2006, Hardcover)

We love this book with the player and little cd-like music discs. The player works pretty much like a basic CD player with open, play (keep pushing play button to switch songs) & stop buttons. It features musical renditions of favorite childrens classic and Backyardigans songs. I wish it had the Backyardigans singing instead of just the music though so children can learn the words. After all the main attraction of the backyardigans is the singing they do. This is our second one. The music player slide-on-holder could be attached in a more secure way instead of just glued on because the first thing that happens is it falls off when you try to detach the player. STILL IT'S A GREAT BOOK AND BRING-ALONG TOY SET!!! That's why we bought another one. There is also a Dora the Explorer version of this and not positive I think it may have the singing.

I bought this because my daughter loves the Backyardigans and the songs that they sing. Her favorite episode is the Pirate one, which was one of the stories included in this book, but none of the songs that go alond with any of the stories are actual songs from the episodes- they are normal sing-along songs like "If You're Happy and You Know It" and "Down By the Bay." That was the only thing I disliked, but it was kind of major.

This is an outstanding item for the little ones. My granddaughter is wild about backyardigans and it is very hard to find backyardigan toys in the store. Who needs the stores when you can order this from your home and it comes to your front door. This will keep my grandkids occupied and having fun for some time.

This would have been a great gift for my nephew but unfortunately it was not good appearance wise.It was stated by the seller to be new and it was not.The seller had taped it to the point that when you removed it the label would come off with the tape.You could see that it had been used but the seller insisted other wise.The seller was willing to send me another she stated but i did not want to take a chance because it was a gift and would not have arrived on time.This would be excellent for a 1 year old to enforce their reading habits.And what child does not like Backyardigans this alone will get their attention.
