Movie synopsis

From the height of the television show's popularity, this full-length movie features all four of the famous crime fighters' most dastardly and cunning adversaries: the Penguin, the Joker, the Riddler, and the Catwoman, joining forces to take over the world thanks to a De-Hydrator that turns people into piles of dust. The dynamic duo pull out all the stops, with a BIFF! and a KA-POW!, to stop the bad guys., This full-length Batman movie was unleashed during the height of the television show's popularity in 1966, taking America to dizzying levels of superhero camp it had never before experienced. In stark contrast with the many dark and gritty incarnations of Batman, the film features all four of the famous crime fighter's most dastardly and cunning adversaries--the Penguin, the Joker, the Riddler, and Catwoman--joining forces to take over the world thanks to a De-Hydrator that turns people into piles of dust. The Caped Crusader and his trusty sidekick Robin pull out all the stops to thwart the bad guys, even if it means a BIFF! or a KA-POW! Before Keaton, before Bale, Adam West was...Batman.

Batman -The Movie (2001,DVD)

I purchased "The Movie Batman" - "Holy Special Edition Batman 1966" DVD for my twin boys. It has the original star characters and a plot that includes four of the famous Batman villains. It is nice to have a DVD with real people in it and not a cartoon format. My boys think they are "SO COOL" that they have "THE REAL BATMAN" on tape ----POW!! WHAP!! BAM!! ZOCK!!

Great Batman movie!!!!!!!

If you haven't seen this movie, you are missing out!!! This is the classic movie with Adam West and Burt Ward. Of course you get EVERY villian in the Batman television series in this one (well, major villians. Mr. Freeze, King Tut and a few others aren't in this one). Whether you are an existing fan of Batman, or introducing the character to someone, this is a MUST HAVE ITEM!!!!

Classic Old School Movie of the 1960's Batman TV Show.

Created: 11/03/10
Ok..

I bought this because the price was right, and for nostalgia reasons..

As a kid, I loved the old Batman TV shows, and still enjoy watching them today.. it's just a fun thing to watch... Nothing more.

I tried to introduce my own children to the old TV Batman shows, but they were never taken by it as I was.

All in all.. this was never a great movie - more artsy than anything.. If you do not like the old Batman TV series, then you are not going to really enjoy this lame little movie.

But, on the flip side.. if that old TV show, and it's over the top characters were your thing, then this one is for you... they are all in the movie.. making the weak story line, bad acting and outrageous special effects come to life.

It is what it was... Enjoy it just like that...

batman in the bronx '66

Created: 21/07/06
back in 1966 when i was 7, i went to see this with my friend mike, it was the summer hit for us kids. my older sister brought us to the theatre and said batman will be there with his car. he wasn't, but i wasn't dissapointed, even at tht age, while believing he would be there. thats because of the movie. i like almost everything about it. from the color to the camera angles & production, to the true to comic book effects. to me it was like a greatest hits version of the tv show. featuring a variey of villians and bat gadgets. its ok for anyone any age, best for that 6 to 10 yr old age. it's very 60's and it is only what it is. you can't compare it to a movie from another era. ( also, unlike the later versions of batman movies i've seen starting in 89, it didn't include a real life shooting in the theatre) times have changed, people have changed. if you wern't there, take a look back at this movie for a glimpse into 1966. if you were there, did he show up for the next veiwing ?
