Battle Group - Spruance (DVD, 2006, A&E Store Exclusive)

This DVD will be of interest to people that study history and in particularily
WW II. The DVD actually breaks down the war, into a smaller segment that is
just the war in the Pacific, and especially the sea/air war and then takes it
a bit further by circleing in on the Spruance Battle Group made up orginally
of the USS Yorktown; USS Enterprise and USS Hornet (battle of Midway) and
continues on as the battlegroup gets larger and goes into battles that launch
the way for the defeat of the Japanese empire forces on the sea and land. Much
of the DVD is combat footage and in black and white. Great DVD.

I was amazed at how much actual war footage there were in this video and even th e recreated scenes were as realistic as I have ever seen. For any history fans of WWII and especially of the war in the Pacific this is a must own.

Great documentary about a great WW2 Admiral that was little know because he shunned the press, but was key to the US's success in the pacific. Great addition to any WW2 historians dvd collection. Worth every penny spent and another great documentary by The History Channel!
