Love It or Hate It

Anyone who watches you play this game will be jumping for their turn to try.
To make this review complete, I need to point out that this game isn't for everyone, but then again no game is. If you want to play a game with a storyline and strategic goals, this isn't the game for you. However, most other people love it. The game starts out with the giant King of the Cosmos telling you his story of how he messed up the stars in the galaxy. Your job is to roll around Earth and pick up earthly items to make katamaris, which turn into stars at the end of a level to put new stars in the sky.
If you want a good idea of the game structure, imagine starting off in a giant world and you roll around a piece of chewed gum, picking up small items such as paperclips and coins. The larger your katamari grows, the larger of items you can pick up; the snowball effect. The goal of each level is to get your katamari to the requested size within the time limit. In each successive level, your katamari starts off slightly larger, so that you get a head start and can pick up larger objects. It also has a really catchy soundtrack. Sound like fun?
It's a good game to pick up and play anytime, and is appropriate for the whole family. The controls are simple and the overall gameplay is simple, but the later levels do become challenging. I would recommend this game to just about anyone.

4.5 stars Beautiful Katamari Delivers

I honestly don't know why every review I read about the Katamari line mentions the lousy story line. The story is pointless, but for Katamari *any* story would be pointless. If you are looking for a story-based game then take a pass at the franchise, but if you're looking for a family-friendly yet addictive game, the Katamari line can easily chew a chunk of time from your day.
Like the PS/2 game We Love Katamari, Beautiful Katamari for the XBox is too short. But unlike the PS/2 sequel, Beautiful Katamari is not laden down with those goofy specialty levels (just one in Beautiful Katamari). With Beautiful Katamari it's just roll, baby, roll...make the biggest, juiciest katamari possible.
Well worth the money and always fun to pass around to friends.

Funnest game I've ever played! I wish the game was a little more popular to play on xbox live though. Otherwise, its a great single player, not-to-hard game that anyone can pick up and awe in its amazingness.

Beautiful Katamari for xbox 360
Created: 05/06/08
this is my third katamari game. I LOVE KATAMARI!!! I have the first two that are out for ps2. and loved both of them. so when we got a 360 for christmas, it only seemed fitting to buy the new one for 360. which by the way I beat tonight. now i'm a girl and i am not good at video games, but i rock at katamari. it is fun for all ages, it's really easty to play it only used the two joy sticks on the standard 360 controller, as well as if you purchace either one for the ps2 it also only uses the two joy sticks. it's a fun game, it never gets old. and you will love it. this was actually my second purchace of the version for 360, this second was a gift for a friend, who loved it just as much as me. it is highly addictive, and if you get all your friends in one room and play this game you will be sure to have an awesome night. good luck!!!
