The 3-Disc set is the best option for owning the movie.

I forgot how beautiful some of the scenes are, after not having seen them in years. Especially on Blu-Ray, the opening shots of the forest and castle are absolutely stunning.
The only cons I can think of are actually part of the film, itself: (1) that you never find out the name of the Prince/Beast in the movie (which you do in the Broadway play, and in some special feature section I can't remember) (which, by the way, is "Adam"), and (2) in my personal, humble opinion, the human Prince was kind of more attractive as his Beast counterpart. :\
Obviously, I can do nothing but highly recommend both the movie, and this Diamond Edition set.

I purchased this DVD for my son for Christmas. We have this movie at our summer cabin but it stays there throughout the year. My son kept asking to watch Beauty and the Beast during the winter months at home. Beauty and the Beast is such a great classic! Now this wonderful movie will be even better in Blu-ray. It was always a favorite of mine and now my son gets to enjoy it. It would be hard to believe there is anyone who has not seen this wonderful movie, but if you have not, I hightly recommend doing so. Beauty and the Beast brings out the child in all of us.

Blu ray reduces the artistic feel of animated movies..

Watching the Blu Ray version on a Hi Def TV with HDMI cables (the whole caboodle) makes the film look like a cheap cartoon that you see on Cartoon Network these days.. In my opinion it looks better and more "real" on VHS (haven't seen regular DVD version yet, though it's included in this package). But I haven't had a chance to look at the special features and such, so that could be plus.. But as for overall movie quality.. Meh. Not worth 30 bucks, that's for sure..
