It shows the entire spellbinding event - many host cities will try to equal this but it will be a long time, if ever, until it is bettered.
Magnificent doesn't even come close, a truly magical record of a wonderful spectacle.

) I've wanted to buy this DVD when it came out. Since I first watched the ceremony on TV, I was almost speechless by the spectacle. All I could utter to this visual extravagance were$ "incredible" and "amazing"; then I was lost in words. Really, the word "spectacle" is invented to describe a visual experience like this. I am sure there will be even greater Olympic Game opening ceremonies in years to come, be them delicate, warm, original, or simply even more spectacular, but the one at 2008 Beijing no doubt has written its own history.
I first watched the ceremony on NBC, and the reporters/commentators did a nice job to deliver informative details. Certainly the ceremony raised contraversies, including executive director Zhang Yi-mou's once-more recent obsession with intimidating number and scale of almost everything just to create the impression of awe. But it is my belief that the ceremony has a rich texture to it that you can find multiple possibility of interpretation, if you are willing to.

If you want to see the opening ceremony from the Bejing Olympics again buy this 2 DVD set. Once again I enjoyed that moment with a great purchase.
The service was even better. There was a slight problem and it was corrected immediately like it use to be done in this country. I was beyond satisfied and I will shop again because of the quality of this merchandise and the service was 5 star. BUY this DVD and watch the spectacular Bejing Opening Ceromony.

) Fantastic demonstration of working together on a grand scale. Impressive. If you missed some, most, or all of this opening spectical on TV or just want to be awed again this two disk dvd is for you to enjoy and share with posterity. It comes neatly divided on two dvd's the first devoted to the opening ceremony and the second to the parade of contries and their participants. This set does not disappoint.
