Best Recipes from the Backs of Boxes, Bottles, Cans, and Jars by Ceil Dyer (1992, Hardcover)

Not every back of the box or label recipe is in this book--just the good ones. It's fun to have a cookbook that harkens back to the time of easier recipes...quick recipes with easy ingredients. Cooking is an art but once in a while its refreshing to find a recipe that is easily made and very good. That is what this book allows. It's on my "recipe books most used shelf."

I originally bought this cookbook back in 1992 I think it was. I loved it, it made keeping those recipes that you love from the back of cans, bottles, boxes and bags easier than writing them down and trying to keep track of the piece of paper. Then in May of 2006, my house burned to the ground and I lost everything including this book. I had to have another copy, so I seached ebay and what do you know, there it was. If you ever need to replace anything or everything, ebay is the place to look. I recommend this book to everyone who has ever forgotten how to make real nestle toll house cookies. It's the best cookbook out there.

I love this book. I own many, many cookbooks but this is my favorite. I am from Tennessee and everyone used to make meals from "scratch". I made the recipes from the cans and jar and sacks of flour for years. I always said they are the best. This book has them right and I use it all the time. The best receives are from the labels of the products as they make sure to put their best out there. I am sixty four years old and know the good stuff. This is it.

Great book, full of easy & delicious recipes from the back of jars, cans & boxes!! I would recommend it for newlyweds as well as veteran cooks!!

EXCELLENT RECIPE BOOK. LOVE THE OLD TIME RECIPES THAT I GREW UP ON AND THIS COOKBOOK IS AN EXCELLENT CHOICE FOR THAT. MR. DYER CAPTURES THE EWSSENCE OF OLD FASHION COOKS "GRANDMA'S COOKING" I WOULD RATE THIS AS A 5 STAR BOOK.
