The Beverly Hillbillies (DVD, 2004)

Dabney Coleman makes a great Milburn Drysdale, Lily Tomlin and Cloris Leachman are just as good as Jane Hathaway and Granny. Jim Varney gives a good performance as as Jed Clampett and newcomer Diedrich Bader gives a good performance as Jethro Bodine. Erika Eleniak is not even close as Elly May Clampett. The movie is reasonably enjoyable when it tells the tales of the Clampett odyssey (the scene where they stop to lay claim to road-kill is hilarious) but goes downhill from there. True to the original series, Rob Schneider shows up with a plot to steal the Clampett millions (only now its billions) but the story line became contrived, belabored, and tiresome. It's difficult in a movie to achieve the week-in and week-out antics of Jethro strapping a rocket to his back or Granny curing the common cold but the movie all in all gives it a good shot.

This movie is a hilarious remake of the old television show! Whether you remember the "original beverly hillbillies" or this is your first encounter, this move is sure to make you laugh! A great movie for the whole family! Special Appearance by Dolly Parton as well!

Great deal for new movie. Still in shrink wrap and one I have been meaning to buy for a long time. Just kept forgetting.
