A FIVE STAR MOVIE FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY

Created: 12/07/09
Bicentennial man is based on the book of the same name by Isaac Asimov. I had a lot of trouble finding it in stores. It's not you're typical science fiction fare, but a warm and funny family picture. Robin Williams is at his all time best. He plays and android who is on a quest to fulfill his destiny. I can't recommend this movie enough.

Bicentennial Man

I have watched this movie a number of times. Robin Williams uses this role to show case his skills as an actor and not so much a camedian. As he grows from robot to human he makes so many suttle changes that you make the journey with him and can not remember where he started. Little Miss makes her self over while again and again also. At times funny, at times painful and at inspiring. 3 1/2 stars out of 4

Robin Williams meets Isaac Asimov

Created: 05/11/06
Based on an Isaac Asimov story (which also provided the inspiration for Data in Star Trek Next Generation), this movie follow the life of an android played by Robin Williams and the family that owns him. A glitch in his design gives him consciousness and creativity, and the movie is the story of his growth and relationship with the family. It is a bit cloying in places, but allows for some moments of William's manic brilliance, and has a good supporting cast. A great family movie (but for Asimov fans beware a serious violation of the Laws of Robotics).

BICENTENIAL MAN

Created: 04/01/11
This is a very intelligent movie based on a stroy from the "father of science fiction" Isaac Asimov. It's fun & funny, but it's also a reflection on aging and what it means to be human. Great movie.
