My Brain is Growing! A great game for >ALL< ages!

Big Brain Academy: Wii Degree for the Nintendo Wii is a game that was released in 2007 by Nintendo.

    Single Player Mode:

This game uses your Mii characters as they enroll in the "Big Brain Academy". Once you enroll in the academy the headmaster ask's you to take a test to see what your brain weight, or score, is.

To do this you complete in a number of mini-games based under 5 main groupings: Visual, Memorize, Computer, Identify, and Analyze. Under each category there are easy, medium, and hard settings (Expert also will come up in multi-player mode). Once you complete your test you get a "base brain score" to see how you stack up.

After you have your base score you can then do practice sessions under the easy, medium, hard, or expert settings in the above listed categories. You compete to earn medal's (bronze, silver, gold, or platinum) based on your skill level's.

A combination of skill and *speed* help determine what your actual brain size is.

    Multiplayer:

The three multiplayer modes in Big Brain Academy allow you to test your brain against up to eight other people.

    Mind Sprint

Mind Sprint allows two players to go head-to-head in a split-screened race, or up to eight players can play as two teams.

    Mental Marathon

A team works together (or an individual works alone) to score as many points as possible within a time limit.

    Brain Quiz

Players take turns choosing from a selection of 12 categories. Each category has a difficulty attached to it, though this is hidden until the category is selected.

    Pro's:

Many Mini-game type formats. Nothing get's really old!
Both single and mult-player are great
Share your scores VIA Wi-Fi and brag to your friends.
    Great game for all ages

    Con's:
Speed is a constant issue. You have to do it faster to get a better score!

    Overall:

    5/5 Addictive and FUN!

    A game for puzzle lovers

a great game! The graphics are simpler than some games--very similar to Wii Sports but they make the games clear and easy to follow. Players can enroll Miis they have created. Each game is short and fast-paced, keeping players from boredom. Within each category, there are three different games--each with its own merits.

I find the main character (he serves as the head of the academy) a little annoying, but I do enjoy that the controller says encouraging things during the games.

The game tracks each player's improvement and gives the players a good idea of which categories to work on. The games are simple but not necessarily easy. Thankfully, each game is broken down into three levels--players can begin on the level of their choosing.

I don't know from experience how well this program would work for children but the simple rules and design seem to lend themselves to children as well as adults.

For those who love puzzles and mind games, I highly recommend this game.

    Amazing!

I recently bought this game due to the addictive nature of the previous installment on the DS. This game is everything I thought it would be as far as testing goes. You initial sign up your me for the "School" and then you have the option to either take the test to get your Brain age or practice a little.

The multiplayer is where this game really shines. You have the option to have up to 4 on 4 with 2 wiimotes. in Sprint mode. The most I've played is 2 on 2 and it was a blast attempting to beat our friends. The newer games that they added to the Wii addition do not feel forced and the other modes such as Brain Quiz, and Marathon are also fun to play with multiple people.

Marathon you take turns solving puzzles seeing how far you can get without messing up, in Quiz mode its like a Jeopardy esque minigame game show. You take turns scoring the most you can on a certain test then the player at the end with the most points wins the game.

You can also compare your Brain Ages with all the other mii's. All an All its a fun game and definitly makes you feel smarter.

    Big Brain Academy

This game is great for the kids and family. Even at 46, I enjoyed playing with my three boys. My 4 year old started memorizing the numbers and alphabets. This is exactly what I wanted, to have family fun but educaional instead of the shooting games that take no brains to play... I also bought "My Word Coach" for WII. I am trying to get educational games for the family to play.
