The Big White (DVD, 2006)

I have been to Alaska and if there was ever one movie that truly captures the mindset of its'people it is The Big White! Brimming with a well known cast of charachters -one of which is Robin Williams- it is a light-hearted comedy that derives its title from Robin Williams charachters' attempt to pull off an insurance scam involving his brother played by Woody Harrelson. It is sure to please and keep a smile on your face as the web of deceit entwines all of this films amazing cast of charachters. Two thumbs up!

This movie was great! It is like Fargo meets The Usual Suspects - plot twists and conflift abound. The film is set in Alaska, but filmed in Canada with beautiful scenery - and the camera captures it all so gorgeously.
Robin Williams plays a man hard on his luck who thinks up a wonderful insurance scam - then has to do some pretty drastic things to keep it going. Holly Hunter plays his beloved wife, whom he will do ANYTHING for. Her part must have been very fun for her to play - I have never seen her like this.
Giovanni Robisi is absolutely wonderful as the insurance claim adjuster who just can't seem to get a break and move up in the company. A far cry from his role in Friends or Blossom - this guy has come of age!
I don't know who i routed for the most - Robin Williams or Giovanni Robisi...
Each character in the movie was well developed and this viewer had very strong feelings for all - even the kidnappers grew on me!
I highly recommend this movie to anyone who wants a little action, a little mystery, and a little revenge.

Holly Hunter and Robin Williams fit their parts perfectly in this priceless movie.

This movie is about a man who is a little (or should I say severely) down on his luck. With his wifes new illness - Tourettes - almost going bankrupt and all the hardships life sometimes entail, Robin Williams is seeking a way out. Trying to cash in a insurance policy on his brother who has been missing for 5 years, he is told to wait another 2 years till he reapplies.

This is when things go from bad to horribly worse. I don't want to give away the ending so I won't tell you anymore.

My personal belief is that this movie is a must see. It is quite comical and has a unique storyline, and with actors like Holly Hunter and Robin Williams, how wrong could it be?

Trust me - this movie is well worth watching.

Very funny movie his wife is played by Holly Hunter she is also on the T.V. show Saving Grace I feel she out performs Williams in this film and I give her 2 thumbs. this is not a must see but if you are Bord of your very large film collection it is a good one to see. don't fall asleep. Good luck

This movie is very good and has a wonderful message...it makes you laugh and cry. If you are a Robin Williams fan it is well worth purchasing so you will be able to view more than once.
