We used it for Biology for non-majors class and the book provides great information on all the stuff that was covered in the lecture by the professor. Easy to understand and pretty much one can learn things by just reading this textbook instead of going to class.

Very complete introductory text on biology.

    Created: 01/02/08
This book includes the basic background in chemistry when required without assuming the reader is already conversant with the underlying principles. The art and photos are excellent. The scope is fairly wide, and it covers all the topics well. The only real downside is that it is a big, and therefor somewhat heavy, book.

(This review is for the paperback international edition.)
