Movie synopsis

The few remaining residents of a Canadian sorority house are celebrating the onset of Christmas vacation when a thirteen year-old girl is found dead in the park. Soon, it is discovered that one of the sorority sisters is missing, which triggers a terrifying chain of murders within the house. Director Bob Clark's (PORKY'S, A CHRISTMAS STORY) tense, effective film is a precursor to the slasher films that would come a half decade later, but never relies on gore. Olivia Hussy (ROMEO AND JULIET) stars alongside Margot Kidder and SCTV's Andrea Martin.

I didn't pay attention that this was an old movie before I bought it. When I first put it in I was not interested in watching it, but a day or two later I was in the mood to watch an oldie so I did. The beginning was dull, but towards the middle it had gotten interesting and it turned out to be a good movie.

I love this movie. first off it's a Bob Clark movie. everything that man touches is gold. it's done with the same mindset of Hitchcock and Carpenter. you dont see the killer and the killings. a lot is left to the imagination. The remake is NOWHERE NEAR as awesome as the original. This is a MUST OWN MOVIE!!!!

Black Christmas 1974

Created: 10/02/11
Black christmas is a "one of a kind" film.Black christmas was the first american slasher film that started it all!Feminists will have a field day with this film. Shot in a sorority house, Black Christmas is in many ways all about women and their status in society. Every female character that is a college student is in some way seeking more power or freedom.Black Christmas is not the best slasher film I’ve seen, but it is one of the better ones, and from a historical perspective, its importance cannot be overlooked. In this season of holidays, check it out with some egg nog, and remember, Xmas gifts are not the only things hidden in the attic.
