All around good phone.

If you want the basic functionality of the Blackberry model of phone, then this is probably a safe bet. It lacks the newer trackball that I personally find quite useful, however all the basic programs are there. It's still quite capable of being a personal assistant, without all the "newfangled" bells and whistles of the modern day phone. The 8700 was released November 1, 2005.
BlackBerry 8700c features include:
Dynamic, highly responsive experience when viewing attachments and graphics, browsing the web and running applications
Access up to 10 supported business and/or personal email accounts
Integrated attachment viewing for popular file formats
MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service) allows you to combine text and images on a single message
Bright, high-resolution screen provides large viewable workspace and includes intelligent light sensing technology to automatically optimize screen lighting levels for ideal indoor and outdoor viewing
Built-in speakerphone for hands-free dialog and convenient conference calls with excellent sound quality
Bluetooth® hands-free headset and car kit support
Polyphonic and MP3 ring tones can be assigned to your contacts
Ergonomic, full QWERTY keyboard for a familiar typing and data entry experience
Large, dedicated “Send”, “End” and “Mute” keys, plus user definable convenience keys.
64 MB of memory
Intel® PXA901 processor at 312 MHz
Quad-Band network support on 850/900/1800/1900 MHz GSM/GPRS and EDGE networks allows for international roaming between North America, Europe and Asia Pacific
All in all, a safe bet for anyone who wants a basic Blackberry model.

Created: 21/12/10
I bought this item as gift for my sister-in-law at a very affordable cost. She was incredibly amazed with its features which included: Java Enabled, MMS Enabled, Polyphonic Ringtones, Color Screen, Bluetooth Enabled, Calendar, Email Access, Internet Browser, MP3 Player, PDA-PC Sync, Text Messaging, QWERTY Keyboard, Push to Talk, Speakerphone, USB Interface. She just inserted her sim card and started making calls!!
She was also thrilled with the deep blue colour of the phone. I was very glad she loved it.
I would recommend this item to others.

black berry 28700c

I originally liked the the look of it because it was bigger and had the full key board so it would be easier to text my son. im 39 so im older and not one of these teenagers. after i got it i soon found out it worked fantastic it picks up a signal every where even on the back roads where no other phones will work where we live even in the grocery stores, my mother of 61 freaked out when i was talking to her one day when she found out i was in the grocery store because she could never call anyone from the store and she has never texted anyone. she liked mine so well that when i let her look on her look on ebay she saw the pink one she fell in love with it so surprisingly i ordered her one to so i bought another one and she loves hers as well and we text all the time she even texts my son and her 9 year old grandson so it was well worth the money i spent on both and i got them at a great price. i would recommend them to anyone.

BB8700c smartphone

For an older BlackBerry smartphone the 8700c is a good choice. Not only does the old Cingular/AT&T model allow you to keep your current low cost plan but changing SIM cards is a snap! From one phone to another the SIM cards make switching phones easy. Batteries are low cost too. If the one that came with your phone no longer holds a charge you can buy another on eBay for under $5.00 including free shipping and handling. we like the old BB's.
