Product Information
In Blazing Angels Squadrons of WWII, players test their air-combat skills as they experience the most famous battles of World War II. As a squadron leader, players can fly up to 38 WWII aircraft in both single-player and multiplayer missions. The game features squadron-based combat, in which each artificial intelligence wingman's specialized skill can be used to the pilot's advantage. During the course of the 18-mission campaign, players will evolve along with their wingmen into an ace fighting force. The heroic storyline that follows the evolution of a single squadron and the cinematic presentation create moments reminiscent of classic World War II movies. Pilots fly in close to Germany’s industrial terrain during a bombing raid or emerge from the fog and cloud cover over London to engage the enemy. Up to 16 players online can engage over Xbox Live online game service in head-to-head dogfights or cooperative team play between squadrons in 10 additional missions.

    Good game.

This is actually a good game.First ill talk about the graphics whish are very nice, air combat never looked so good the grass, water, trees and the building are nice the planes look realistic. The only problem with the graphics is the people which are like blocks even though you never really see them every once and awhile you will be taking off and see them running around.Other than that it has pretty good graphics.Okay next is gameplay which real good not to mention fun dogfignts sometimes are a bit easy but that is okay it is a pretty long game.Controls take a little getting used to but once you do it will be a piece of cake manuevering your plane around stuff."be care not run into a building of faceplant into the water".Sound is good as far as the planes and environment but the people just uhhh I didn't know german and japanese spoke english to each other in bad accents, and joe the southern hick his voice gets annoying after awhile.Multiplayer is pretty good it has plenty of gametypes but what really takes the cake for this game's multiplayer is that it has 16 player co-op that is great.Overall this is a pretty good game with great graphics decent gameplay and good multiplayer the controlls take some getting used too and the sound could use some this is a game ill be playing for a while.

Blazing Angels -- Flaming Crashes not a simulator

    Created: 02/01/07
The game itself is good and is a good play.

But, much of the stuff I read about it before I purchased it, made it sound like a flight simulator.

It is not a flight simulator game, it is a flying shooter.

The difference? Well, if you are expecting realistic performance flying WWII planes, this is not what the game provides. You only have basic steering, there is no trim or instruments. Although they give the planes different names and use pictures of the original planes, the flight characteristics do not really change to match the original planes, the plane naming is just a way to change armor and weapons options.

It does play well, since unlike a true simulator, you don't have to worry about the mechanics of flying and all the technical stuff that goes with it.

So, my suggestion is that if you are looking for a flight simulator, keep looking, if you want a fun multi-player flying shooter, this is for you.

    Blazing Angels: Squadrons of WWII

    Created: 14/04/10
The first thing that players will notice about Blazing Angels Squadrons of WWII is that you won’t be flying solo, ripping through gads of enemies like some airborne Rambo. On the contrary, you’ll have a strong support system in the air, thus the word “squadron” in the title. You’ll be flanked by a few friendly A.I. journeymen can be given direct orders.

The wingmen in Blazing Angels have three basic functions: to protect, to fight, and to heal. Each wingman is better at one task than the others, but each can perform every command available in your repertoire. Tom is the protector of the squadron, and therefore always stays within view of your bird.

Frank is the closest thing to a one-man-wrecking-crew of the bunch, treating any attacker that is thrown his way with extreme prejudice.
Last but not least is Joe, who plays the role of air medic in Blazing Angels. He doesn’t do much, other than fix your plane in mid-air, which is no small feat. When Joe’s wrench icon is lit, you can summon him to repair everything from a ruptured fuel line to a faulty rudder. Fixing your plane is as easy as calling Joe, then entering simple face button commands as they appear on the screen. Your success in entering this combo determines just how healed your bird becomes. Nail the combo and your plane will go from burning heap to sleek killer in no time.
The control scheme takes the tedium out of non-flight stick games involving dogfighting. While an argument could be made for having a cockpit view in Blazing Angels Squadrons of WWII, the Follow Cam pretty much satisfies without having to go completely first-person. With the Follow Camera, gamers can “look” as if they were in first-person mode, while still having a large view of the atmospheric real estate. The only downfall of the Follow Cam is that sometimes it can be overused. We’re creatures of habit, so there are instances when the normal view would suffice, but the mind says “pull that left trigger”. Once you learn to balance your time between the Follow Cam and the normal cam, the fun truly begins.

Very fun and new game. I was a big fan of Ace Combat for PS2 and this title offered the same type of game play but more WW2 style. The best scene was the D-day attack on the beach. If you want a good mix of air and land targets along with perfect graphics this is the game for you. Very fun and very hard to beat. This took 8 hours to beat and has an awesome online feature.

Blazing Angels: Squadrons of WWII a great visual

    Created: 23/05/06
The game has great graphics. The game has dull action and lame missions. The dog fights are easy and not much fun because its over quickly. The voice overs are terrible and annoying. If you want a WW2 fighter game check it out.

    My Rank
    6.1 out of 10

    Good
    - Good multiplayer options--provided you can find anyone else playing

    Bad
Dull mission objectives; easy dogfights; downright offensive enemy voice acting.
