“Realizing that this is a controversial book, I must remember what my old journalism professor Dr. Lee Dudek taught me years ago. He said that journalism is not a passive business. A reporter’s job is to question the answers and actions, especially when intent and motivations may be hidden or unclear, and demand a voice.
My hope is that this book will serve to “connect the dots,” provide solid facts in this captivating case, and finally ‘break the dam of fiction’ regarding what happened to
Anna Nicole Smith and what she wanted for her precious little girl.
I also hope Anna’s story will serve as a lesson to us all to be mindful of our friends, careful about our physical well-being, and supportive of those around us who need to conquer their addictions before those addictions consume and, sadly, conquer them.”
Shocking, stunning, captivating. Rita Cosby’s new book, Blonde Ambition is unsettling in many respects. Rita is like the female version of Walter Cronkite or David Brinkley of our generation. An Emmy-Award winning journalist that has appeared on two major networks, interviewing and reporting on the central historical figures of our time has written this earth shaking book. A credentialed newsperson who has written a new book about a popular figure, who mostly graced the covers of gossip magazines of questionable value. Why would Rita Cosby write a book about the untimely deaths of Anna Nicole and her son Daniel? She tells us in her acknowledgement. She acts as the voice for those who cannot speak for themselves any longer, with the hope that inquiry and investigations to take place in the future will bring the truth to light. Rita had agreed to donate 10% of her advances and royalties for the book to D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education).
I have to admit that I was more than a little skeptical. Some of the revelations in this book were so disturbing that the Today Show cancelled its interview with Rita and if you saw how limited O’Reilly’s interview was with Rita when the book first came out, you got the feeling that some of the big boys did not want to discuss the material contained in the book. Check out my interview with Rita and draw you own conclusions. I found that she had investigated, documented, and thoroughly researched her facts. She very patiently answered every question that I asked her, and I asked some difficult questions. What is there about this book that has made it too hot to handle? Why should you read it?
Among the alleged statements of fact made in the book that are first time disclosures:
• On Monday, February 5th, Anna was given a shot which later the corner would contribute to her death. It is not clear whether she injected this into herself, o

Finally, The True Facts.
Created: 04/02/08
I was one of those who were glued to the TV during all the reports of Anna's death. After she was laid to rest, I still felt, like so many, that there was ALOT more to this story that the public was not allowed to know.
Rita Cosby, an amazing Emmy Award Winning reporter, took the bull (literally) by the horns and put the FACTS we did not see or hear together for us. Rita was there every step of the way through this case as it unfolded. She gives a reputable accounting of the circumstances of Anna's life, and times, leading up to (and including) her sons death and her own passing. There is NO WAY Rita Cosby would write anything that is false, or could be proven false, and run the risk of damaging her excellent reputation as a reporter. She would have no reason to lie. That alone makes this book and its content that much more amazing.
This is a mystery. This is a true story of a woman who had no one to turn to that did not want her for the exposure and money they could make. Anna was pronounced dead at 2:49pm, and Howard K Stern's cell phone records show he called Entertainment Tonight at 3:49pm and 3:51pm, to make a deal.
These facts are only a scratch on the surface that Ms. Cosby reveals of this incredible story.
Anna Nicole fan or not, it is a great read! Fast Read and hard to put down.

Should have been titled "DEN OF THIEVES"

I decided to buy this book for more info on what I think is a cover up in Anna Nicole's death. It confirmed much of what I already believed to be true about Howard K. Stern. He was always looking for a way to exploit and merchandise ANS. I feel sorry for her. Too bad she had no one to trust who did not want to profit from her fame!! It begs the question ...why do so many of the rich & famous become blinded by opportunistic charlatan type "advisors" until they wind up DEAD? This should be a lesson to anyone seeking fame that Drugs cloud your ability to make good decisions about those around you. So called "FRIENDS" will get you hooked and take away everything and everyONE you love... slowly. Rita Cosby is an opportunist too, in my mind so IF YOU MUST BUY THIS BOOK, BUY IT USED AND MAYBE THEN, she won't make any more money off of it as her sources seem flimsy on some accounts. If the video tape referenced in the book ever hits the internet though and is authenticated, I could change my mind. This is simply a sad account of a group of pathetic money hungry leaches (all of them) who eventually sucked the life out of a beautiful, yet tragically ignorant young woman.

Blond Ambition by Rita Cosby (2007)

The book regarding Pop Culture character Anna Nicole Smith was very well written, there was nothing that was inflammatory. Ms Cosby did her homework in gathering all the facts. The list of phone calls made by all the principal characters on that fatal morning when Anna died is a story unto itself. Ms. Cosby's unbiased reporting is very impressive. I thought it was so well done that I passed it onto others to read.
