Movie synopsis
Elvis Presley stars in this vehicle tailored to his singing talents in a return to musical comedy after several turns in dramatic roles. Chad Gates returns home to Honolulu after a stint in the service. He shows little interest in working for his overbearing parents' pineapple plantation, much to their dismay. Instead, Chad finds a job as a tour guide and thereby gives himself a chance to dance with, and sing to, a variety of Hawaii's most beautiful women. Includes musical numbers such as "Blue Hawaii," "Rock-A-Hula Baby," "Hawaiian Wedding Song" and "Island of Love," as well as the immortal "Can't Help Falling in Love."

This one the "essential" Elvis Presley movies on DVD. It has the basic plot, but it also has great music. One of the best soundtracks actually.
Some of the great songs are "Can't Help Falling In Love", "Hawaian Wedding Song" and the great rocker "Slicin' Sand". It's very "Hawaii", and that's what it should be. Elvis really shows great acting skills here, ans I really think he enjoyed doing this movie.
This movie should be part of any Elvis movie collection.

) Blue Hawaii has some of the most beautiful music of Elvis. He does a great rendition of the Hawaiian Wedding Song. Angela Lansbury does a good job as the Southern, snobbish mom and gives the film a comedic aspect. I think this is one of his better films.

Great Movie!

A great movie, dancing, singing, and best of all, HAWAII!! Elvis gets home from the military, not wanting to work in his dad's business, he goes into the tourist business. You get to see different areas of Hawaii, luau's, pineapple picking, & of course girls.
Ping Pong the handy house help is awesome. You also have Angela Lansbury who plays Chadwick's (Elivs) mother, she is funny, likes those my tye drinks and gets very upset when she doesn't get her sugar. (kiss from Chadwick) A movie that is clean and good for the whole family.

title alone makes you want to watch. singing, dancing, pretty girls,and elvis in the middle of them and at the same time his mother is driving him crazy. this is a movie you can sign with, dance with and enjoy the beauties of hawaii. a must see
