Bobby Darin - Beyond the Song (DVD, 2005)

This is a great DVD about Bobby Darin. It has Sandra Dee, their son Dodd Darin, along with his great hit Mack the Knife. I loved this DVD and so will the true Bobby Darin Fan. Do not hesitate to buy this DVD, it really is great and you will watch it more than once.

I bought because I loved Bobby Darin as a very young teenager I never tired of hearing Bobby sing...I liked the personal information about Bobby Darin and some previously unreleased music. I had never heard a song Bobby wrote called Rainin and I loved it so I bought a cd with the song included on the cd so I could listen to it in my car. I have since bought some other cds and dvds about his life... even tho he passed away in 1973 he still fascinates me today. I really don't think Bobby got his just rewards. He was a fabulous entertainer.. I loved the dvd... thanks

Since this program first aired on PBS in 1998, there hasn't been anything to better this profile of Bobby Darin. Due to time constraints imposed upon the original production team, there were certain areas of Darin's life and career that had to be left out, but this does not take away from the excellence of the program in any way. The key figures in the Darin story are here to give firsthand accounts of the man whom they loved. Remembrances from producer Ahmet Ertegun, Dick Clark, Harriet Wasser, manager Steve Blauner and Bobby's son Dodd paint an amazing portrait of the man who in the words of friend Dick Clark, "you just don't find that much talent in one body. He was extraordinary". Many musical performances are here to remind us us of that talent, from duets with Jimmy Durante and Judy Garland to footage from Darin's own 1972-73 variety series. If you aren't already of fan of Bobby Darin, then this is what you need to get started.

SO FAR, THIS IS THE BEST DOCUMENTARY FILM THAT WAS DONE ON BOBBY DARIN.
AND IF YOU ARE AN AVID FAN, GET THE "MACK IS BACK" ON DVD. HAVE BOTH IN YOUR POSSESSION AND YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT.

Bobby Darin sounds better every year that pass's and this a great collection of his songs.I highly recommend this to the novice and the Darin fan.Every song is a winner and the quality of the recording is perfect.If you want to swing , this is the place.
