bones 2
Created: 04/10/09
Like the famous duos in THE X-FILES and MOONLIGHTING, the prickly pairing of Dr. Temperance "Bones" Brennan (Emily Deschanel, GLORY ROAD) and Agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz, ANGEL) is what drives this crime series. As Brennan and Booth butt heads, they attempt to solve grisly mysteries with his FBI experience and her knowledge of forensic anthropology. The show's adept mix of crime and comedy rides on the strong shoulders of their chemistry. This drama draws inspiration from the life and work of bestselling author Kathy Reichs, a forensic anthropologist like her onscreen counterpart. In addition to featuring all 22 episodes from the second season, this release allows fans a look behind the scenes with commentary, bloopers, and more. This season also features guest appearances from Stephen Fry, Ernie Hudson, and Ryan O'Neal.

Spunky, geeky, charming and sexy!

Think of it as "The X-Files" without the aliens, although, the "Squints" at work in the Jeffersonian anthropology department might make you wonder about that. As an entertaining series, "Bones" works on all levels. It overflows with techno-babble and forensic magic, enough to engross any armchair crime scene investigator.
The sidekick characters are all suitably cute, snarky, and interesting, and the leads David Boreanz and Emily Deschanel, come the closest to succeeding at resurrecting Mulder and Scully than anyone else has in the last ten years. Boreanz's "Seeley Booth" is a quirky special agent, with a dark past. Striped socks, flashy ties and a boyish grin compliment the steely, analytical character Deschanel brings to life, Dr. Temperence "Bones" Brennan. Booth is the pious former alter boy, Bones is the abandoned little girl who does not understand the concept of God.
Season 2 of "Bones" is a can't lose buy. With twice as many episodes as season 1, there is plenty of room to explore storylines, concepts and character development, with romance, family ties, psychiatry and dark humor all rolled into one tasty forensic roll.
I chose to buy this series from ebay without even having watched an episode of it and I was not disappointed. Along with the full season of episodes, there are special features which include a "Memories of filming" featurette, a in depth look on the digital technology used in the filming, and a very funny gag reel. (And if you're often disappointed with gag reels, rest assured this one is filled with genuinely funny moments and is also of a decent length.)

DR. TEMPERANCE BRENNAN (Emily Deschanel) is a highly skilled forensic anthropologist who works at the Jeffersonian Institute in Washington, D.C., and writes novels on the side. When the standard methods of identifying a body are useless (when the remains are so badly decomposed, burned or destroyed), law enforcement calls on Brennan for her uncanny ability to read clues left behind in the victim's bones.
While most people can't handle Brennan's intelligence, her drive for the truth or the way she flings herself headlong into every investigation, SPECIAL AGENT SEELEY BOOTH (David Boreanaz) of the FBI's Homicide Investigations Unit is an exception. A former Army sniper, Booth mistrusts science and scientists - the "squints," as he calls them - who pore over the physical evidence of a crime. But even he cannot deny that the combination of his people-smarts and Brennan's scientific acumen makes them a formidable duo.

Bones - Season 2
Created: 23/10/08
The series moves into the second year, and the character evolution continues. Bones a/k/a Dr. Temperance Brennan (Emily Deschanel) is the cool, logical, aloof scientist with limited social skills, and she is partnered with FBI Agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanz) who is the emotional, street-wise, people-savvy member of the team. The chemistry between these two actors is what makes a winner of this darkly comic series.
