Good game.

Created: 04/07/06
This is a good game for adults, or even the children. It is relatively interesting so it may keep your kids going for a couple minutes... not hours though. It's one of the games that are meant for several minutes a day instead of playing so much that your eyes hurt.

I'm not entirely sure if this game really helps you or not, it does seem to a little bit. It's probably a better choice for a game for your children than other Nintendo games because of the educational portion of it.

I am very happy I got this game.

I have honestly (and embarassingly) never been that great with math. And especially since I've been out of math classes, alot of it, even some simple math, seems to have leaked out of my head. But I've been playing this game just for a week and I have seen a great difference in the way I handle simple everyday mathematical problems. I do see what the game is trying to say about attempting to make your brain to work and shoot faster in order to help your brain power. And it really has actually been successful for me.
The sudoku is pretty awsome with over 100 puzzles to solve and the option to retry them later to attempt to get a better score. And its not just math, there are a few other things in there to like reading, syllable counting, etc

My ONLY complaint, is that you have to get a little used to the way the game expects you to write out certain numbers, or say certain words. It sometimes spits out the weirdest stuff that doesnt even look like anything you wrote. lol but thats pretty minor, you get the jist of it after a little bit.

So if you feel like your brain needs a little boost after being out of school and not challenging it on a daily basis, (or would just liek a simple boost) then this is a simply and entertaining way to help improve that. Also, Its fun, yet productive. I dont feel guilty so much when sitting around playing this when I know ive got other things I should be doing. lol :P

Brain Age is one of the most unique games on the DS yet

Created: 26/06/06
This game is about trying to make your brain younger by making you do math problems quickly, read out loud, etc. The most amzing thing about this game is that the game actually makes education fun. GASP!!!. This game is incredibly addicting and hardly ever gets repetitive. My favorite training activity in the game is the Head Count. In the Head Count there are a number of people that are in the house. For an amount of time, people will go in and out of the house. In the end, the game will ask you how many people are still in the house. As you do each activity, your graph will start to get filled up. The graph will show you how much you improved or how much you got worse at a cetain activity. The only problem I had was that the Color Recognition trainig con get troublesome. This is so because the game cannot pick up the word blue good enough. However, this problem can be ignored by saying that you can't speak at the moment. This games graphics and sound are pretty average. This game, ofcourse, soes not focus on graphic and sound because this game is all about training your brain. Still the floating head is cool. So this game isn't really a game. It's more of a training program, but this one awesome training program.

If Homework were Fun, It'd be called Brain Age

Created: 27/04/06
Brain Age for the Nintendo DS is somewhat of an anomaly. By all technical terms, it's a game; you learn the rules, play your guts out, and go for a high score. Then again, it's nothing like a game; simple math equations, classical reading, or just counting as fast as you can are the order of the day. You hurriedly scribble the answers (which the game will occasionally completely misinterpret), shout the names of colors (which the game will occasionally completely misinterpret), and try desperately to write out that list of words you were just supposed to memorize (will the game will occasionally completely misinterpret). All of this to receive a score like you've never seen: a score for your brain.

If you want a game that you will play for a few hours at a time, look elsewhere. Nintendo seems determined to have you play this game for a few minutes every day (much like Nintendogs or Animal Crossing). The added Sudoku puzzles add some longevity, but it won't keep you glued to your DS. It's odd and occasionally unwieldy, but I keep coming back. Never before has a game made me feel so dumb, and never before have I felt a game may just make me smarter.

Brain age for DS... does it really train your brain???

Created: 04/01/07
Brain Age, for nintendo DS, Directed by Kouichi Kawamoto and produced by Satoru Iwata, is a great challenging game to get your brain working. Many different challenges and games await you in this game that tests your mental strength, ability, capacity, and speed.
According to the game, your brain should be operating at a 20 year old level of speed and knowledge. If your brain is operating at an older age than your ACTUAL age, you need to work on it. Doing the daily exercises offered by Brain Age has shown to sharpen your memory and brain function. It really does work your cortex! Try it. If after a week of daily training and testing you dont feel sharper, think faster, and do better at your mathmatics and memory activities, it means you need SERIOUS training.
"Your belly needs food doesnt it? Well, so does your brain!" One of the best peices of advice given by the makers of brainage! SO feed your prefrontal cortex and get started training for the mental olympics with this fabulous, fun game!
It even has an added bonus. Soduko, available in a couple different skill levels, and MANY different puzzle challenges.
