A Sad Love Story that Lives With You
Created: 06/03/11
James Caan and Billy Dee Williams (Pic & Magic) turn in great performances with this real-life story of two professional football players who room together during the days of racial unrest. A sory of love, respect, humor, and teamwork! Sheelly Fabares also does a wonderful job portraying Brian Piccolo's strong wife, Joy! A tear-jerker that you won't soon forget!

Brian's Song DVD

Bought it when we switched from VHS to DVD. No way for even a guy to watch it without crying.
Story of a how classy 2 sports figures can be, should be, and see beyond the color barrier. This movie is right up there with "Pride of the Yankees" "Somebody Up There Likes Me" and the original "Rocky" Gayle Sayers still talks about his friend Brian Piccolo nearly 40 years later.
No steroids, no scandals, just 2 true heros.

I saw this movie which came out in 1971 as the ABC movie of the week. It will stay with you for the rest of your life. I am living proof as I first saw it when I was only 9 years old, now I'm 44. I just bought it recently on DVD. Though still unopened, I am preparing myself to watch it again. This time with my new family. And believe me, they will feel the same as when I saw it. This movie is about a bond, a friendship between 2 people that will always be a staple and should be viewed by racially minded people. A classic and best of all....a genuine true story.

Moving Story

If you enjoyed "Radio" or "Remember the Titans," then chances are you'll love "Brian's Song." It's touching and inspirational...but very sad if you're one of those who can't stand to cry at the end. This is the story of two football players and their unique friendship, which continued and grew stronger through the tremendous difficulties Brian faced. It's got lots of good football parts, for those sports lovers, but many touching moments as well. A good family film!

This is one of my favorite movies and, because it came at such a great price, I'll recommend it to my friends. It's one of the most touching, meaningful movies ever made ... about two football players who came from vastly different backgrounds who have very different character traits who become the best of friends for eternity.
