Is it difficult being right all the time?

Created: 14/08/06
This movie offers more than the description here suggests. This movie goes beyond the misplaced or misguided love. It is a movie that explores what it is like to be in the business world, especially in a cut-throat profession like broadcasting. It's an exploration of how different people in different positions handle the pressure of every day life, work, and relationships. It is wonderful because everything doesn't get tied up all neat and tidy... so to speak. But in the end, they are all just fine. Brooks, Hunter, and Hurt all deliver wonderful performances.

Funny & Touching

This romantic comedy delves into the world of broadcast journalism. The inherent drama of that life lends tension to the relationships of the characters. Witty and well written, the most important part of the story is it's unconventional ending. Romantic comedies end happily but this one doesn't end with the expected romance.

REALITY ON CELLULOID

Created: 18/06/08
BROADCAST NEWS is one of those rare films that tap the true inner self. Everyone living has experienced the gamut of emotions expressed in this movie. Accomplishment/failure. Self admiration/insecurity. Love/hate and most of all EVERYONE DOES NOT LIVE HAPPILY EVER AFTER...WE JUST GO ON.

Hats off to a film that does not cheat by either leaving us with a warm fuzzy feeling...or some off the wall shock value.

BROADCAST NEWS is the way it really happens.

This was a gift for a granddaughter who is going into broadcasting. Her parents and I loved the movie and wanted her to see it, too.
