Broken Bridges (DVD, 2007)

Toby Keith's 1st movie, Broken Bridges is enjoyable. Both for content as well as memorable music. Films rated for family viewing (PG13) are becoming harder to find. I liked it, and recommend it.

This is a great movie. I bought it because I love Toby Keith, and it is his first movie. I am surprised this movie wasn"t much of a hit in theaters. It will appeal to country music fans over age 12,due to the sensitive nature of the plot. Toby Keith is great as a "good ol boy", kelly Preston does well as the serious, hard working ex-girlfriend, and newcomer Lindsey Haun portrays their daughter in a believable way. Willie Nelson has a cameo where he shines, as always. The drama in this movie brought tears to my eyes. Burt Reynolds makes a great hard-nosed, unforgiving father.

I bought this movie because Toby Keith is in it. I love country music and the music in the movie was great. I really like the song that Toby's daughter (in the movie) sings - "Broken". I wanted to see how the movie played out with the music.

I love this movie with Toby Keith and Kelly Preston who were high school sweethearts who are thrown back together when their brothers were killed in a military training accident. They haven't seen each other for 16 years when they were suppose to run away together after she found out she was pregnant but he didn't show up. Instead he went on the road and became a famous country singer and she wa left to raise their daughter alone. Burt Reynolds is her dad in the movie and he was very upset that she was pregnant and disowned her. Now they are back home after several years. This is one of my favorite movies. I really love and Lindsey Haun is awesome as their daughter.

I had to get this dvd for 2 main reasons: Toby Keith and the song that Dixie sings at the end of the movie! Everytime I hear it I cry.
Toby Keith is a wonderful and charming actor. He has made Country Music and Country Music lovers' proud!
Being a military mom in a very patriotic family (I currently have 2 sons in Iraq), I enjoyed the respect and pride implied for our boys in uniform (and specifically the sacrifies WE ALL make) in this movie.
