I bought this scanner to convert boxes of print photos, mostly of our kids when they were much younger (when we were ALL much younger!). I was looking for something easy to use, and that did a good job of scanning without a lot of muss and fuss. My Brookstone iConvert Photo Scanner fills the bill.
I have the smaller of the two models - it won't handle larger prints, but the ones it does handle turn out great. It took a few test scans to get the hang of feeding the prints in so they'd scan right, but once I did that, it's just been a matter of setting aside time to scan.
I use the memory card to transfer images from the scanner to my computer - I had a couple cards from various digital cameras that worked just fine.

The sales was fine, little slow in shipping. What I noticed and I did not ask and should have was the product was out dated. I had to call the manufacturer to find out how to insert the picture I wanted to copy and was told they hadnt sold this model for several years. Just check when buying ANYTHING to ensure the item is not from out dated stock. I have use the item several times and it does the job but the newer models would be a lot faster. You sort of have to tape the picture in the frame and hope it doesnt fall off when you insert the picture and frame in the machine to copy it the picture. This is how the person from the manufacturer told me to use the iConvert Photo Scanner.

FAST and EASY!!!
Just place the negatives or slides in the trays provided, slide the tray in the scanner and press scan. The scans take about a second or two each. Having the scans go to a SD card is very conveinent. In my case, all my negatives are stored in one location. I just brought the scanner over and scanned them in. I did about 10 rolls per hour!

I haven't use the Brookstone iConvert Instant Slide & Negative Scanner Slide & Film Scanner because it is to small for the old black & white pictures. So I haven't figure out what I am going to do with the scanner. It seems like a nice deal.

I am a historian and I bought it to scan documents when in the field doing research so that I can refer to them later. By actually having a copy of the document I am able to review and relate the evidence in my work than I could by referring to and trying to recall what I read simply through notes.
