Brother HL-2170W Workgroup Laser Printer

First of all, as with any printer, this one is not perfect. However, if you read the quickstart guide and follow the instructions, it is fairly easy to set up.
You have several connection options.. I also appreciate that the drivers work well with terminal services. I have 3 of these printers here now, each serving a 3-4 person group. Two of the locations had no network ports available and I did not feel like running cat5, so the wireless feature came in handy.
Print quality and speed is more than adequate for our needs.. For larger groups, I went with the 5280 and 5250 from brother. As for the toner, the 2170 uses the same toner as the 2140 (usb only). So, if you have a mix of single user and workgroup printers, you don't need to stock different toners. It's a very nice printer for the price.

Cost to own, speed from print execution, cheap to operate. Wired and wireless functionality. Brother quality build and excellent drivers.

Prints well in a wired network. Can't get it to work wireless. Came well packed, and was as advertised. Seller said it did not have a page counter or toner use indicator--but it does (had to add toner immediately.) Good little machine that prints B&W at much low cost than inkjets. Only complaint is that it takes forever to load anything with graphics.

This is the first Brother printer I have purchased -and am I glad I gave it a try. Not only was the price reasonable, but I could not believe how much faster it was than the last Laser printer. Quality of printing is good and would I buy again-you bet.

Great printing for the money. No complaints at all. Easy to use and set up.I would recommend it for home or school use.
