    Producers: Ralph Sall, Steve Brown, Robert Civillies, Davie Coles, Matthew Sweet, Fred Maher, Gavin MacKiiop, The Divinyls, Charley Drayton, Duane Baron, John Purdell, Rob Halford, Nick Terzo.Engineers: Toby Wright, Acar S. Key, Peter McCabe, Lloyd Puckitt, Gavin MacKillop, Duane Baron, John Purdell.When speaking of the Zeitgeist of late '90s teen television and culture, it would not be fair to merely call "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" simply a tolerable element for people past the age of 20. "Buffy" stands on its own as one of the more intelligent, unique, and lively shows of the past decade. The commitment to quality carries over to the show's soundtrack, a blend of appealing alterna-rock--about half new and half previously issued--based on the show's occult themes.Guided By Voices' "Teenage FBI" from DO THE COLLAPSE is quite possibly Robert Pollard's most appetizing concoction to date. Bif Naked surprises with the enticingly ethereal ballad "Lucky" as does Black Lab, with the nugget "Virgin State of Mind." The soundtrack abounds with simple, indisposable pop tunes from virtual unknowns like Hepburn, with its jangle-pop gem "I Quit" and Superfine, with its country-tinged punk rabble-rouser "Already Met You." Finally, on any soundtrack worth its salt there is that one selection from a few years back that shoulda, woulda, coulda been a hit in a more perfect world. They choose the Sundays' Rolling Stones cover "Wild Horses." Perfect.

    4 stars out of 5 - Kicking off with The Breeders' blast at the theme tune, it rolls through the Dandy Warhols, Dashboard Prophets, Aimee Mann, The Devics and Laika. There are score fragments, too...

    3 stars out of 5 - ...splices the theme music with selections from Hepburn, Garbage, The SUndays, Guided By Voices, rootsy country fiddle player Alison Krauss and various lesser-known names....It's not without a certain Gothic charm.

    ...suggests the series' emotional obsessions: from repressed anger...to glorious gloppy romanticism....wonderful voice-from-the-crypt melodrama. - Rating: B+

    BtVS The Album = a great bond to the episodes

    Created: 30/03/09
    One of the powerful elements to an episode is music. And the Buffy series was in no short supply of that. Certain episodes just holds a special part in our hearts, and a song in the ep can remind us of emotions and memories years after. I'm sure most Buffy fans are between the ages of 25-33. For those who were like me, was also in high school somewhere during the first 3 seasons. So in a way, we grew up with them.

    For the hardcore fans you probably wouldn't need this list, but for those of you hesitating to buy this album...here's the ep where the track was featured:

    1. the theme song (duh!)
    4. Never Kill a Boy on the First Date
    7. The Harsh Light of Day
    8. The I in Team
    9. Doppelgangland
    10. Teacher’s Pet
    11. Where the Wild Things Are
    12. Beer Bad
    13. When She Was Bad
    14. The Prom
    15. Bewitched, Bothered And Bewildered; Dead Man's Party; Living Conditions
    16. I Only Have Eyes For You
    17. Surprise
    18. Becoming Part 2

    So if any of the above eps was a fav of yours, it's safe bet you'll enjoy this album. Though I'm unhappy that #2, #3, #5, and #6 were included when they were not in any ep, but it does fill up the lineup decently. You can consider them unused tracks. Either way, 14/18 on a CD is still pretty good. Unlike some of the other soundtracks out there, where more than half weren't in the show/movie.

    I'm still rating this perfect though it's not perfect, but pretty damn close. Buy it to enjoy it, or buy it to pick at it's flaws. But either way, Buffy fans should have this in their collection.

    loved the show and love the CD!

    Created: 04/03/10
    I recently started watching Buffy The Vampire Slayer again because, let's face it, tv nowadays sucks. I wanted the theme song and unsure if there was a cd or not I searched for Buffy albums and found this one. Initially, i figured, hey this thing is worth it if only for the 1st and last song. When i actually popped it in though, i loved it! Great mix of songs! brings back memories from the episodes while i'm not actually watching. Now, not all the songs are featured in the series. but it's only 4 out of the 18 so that's still a good 80% of songs still in the show. that's the only thing i kinda dislike about it. as a buffy cd it should have featured more songs from the show but even those 4 songs are great so it's not much of a complaint.

    if you want to know which songs are featured in which episode i'll break it down for you:

    1. The Buffy the Vampire Slayer Theme --> Every episode
    2. Teenage FBI --> n/a
    3. Temptation Waits --> n/a
    4. Strong --> s1 ep05 Never Kill a Boy on the First Date
    5. I Quit --> n/a
    6. Over My Head --> n/a
    7. Lucky --> s4 ep03 The Harsh Light of Day [this song is cool]
    8. Keep Myself Awake --> s4 ep13 The I in Team
    9. Virgin State of Mind --> s3 ep16 Doppelgangland
    10. Already Met You --> s1 ep04 Teacher's Pet [this song is my least fav]
    11. God is a Man --> s4 ep18 Where the Wild Things Are
    12. Nothing But You" --> s4 ep05 Beer Bad
    13. It Doesn't Matter --> s2 ep01 When She Was Bad
    14. Wild Horses --> s3 ep20 The Prom [love this song! *spoiler alert* it's the one buffy and angel dance to at the prom]
    15. Pain --> s2 ep16 Bewitched Bothered & Bewildered; s3 ep02 Dead Man's Party; s4 ep02 Living Conditions [this is sung by four star mary aka dingoes ate my baby]
    16. Charge --> s2 ep19 I Only Have Eyes For You
    17. Transylvanian Concubine --> s2 ep13 Surprise
    18. Close Your Eyes (buffy/angel love theme) --> s2 ep22 Becoming [this one is played in a lot of episodes but mainly in becoming. it's also featured in the show Angel for the crossover episode "I Will Remember You"

    that's as detailed as i can get. Hope this helped. definitely worth buying!

    Buffy CD

    Created: 04/12/06
    I had already listened to this CD before I purchased it (I got it from the library). I liked it so much I decided I'd like to own a copy. The songs are a great overview of the music that was featured in the series. It's got love ballads, rock, country and instrumentals. It's the best CD off all the ones from the show (the second best is Buffy the Musical).

    great songs. mostly from earlier seasons. Really good stuff to listen to if you are a fan of the Buffy series from early or later years. Alternative rock, soft and harder songs.

    Whats not to love for a Buffy fan? The music is a huge part of the whole Buffy
    atmosphere. Im also a fan of alternative music because of my daughter. This is an awesome collection for a music fiend.
