You're not going to take it anymore. From edgy publisher Rockstar's Vancouver development team comes this dark comedy set in the most vile and sadistic setting yet in a Rockstar videogame: the schoolyard. As a troublesome schoolboy, you'll laugh and cringe as you stand up to bullies, get picked on by teachers, play pranks on malicious kids, win or lose the girl, and ultimately learn to navigate the obstacles of the fictitious reform school, Bullworth Academy.

    Bully for you!

    Created: 02/01/07
My 16 year old son asked for this game, Bully. I did a little research and liked what I found. This game puts you (as character Jimmy, 15 yr old new kid in town) in situations with various boarding school bullies and gives you the tools to stand up to those bullies. Bullworth Academy is run by a clueless administration and different social cliques that are always fighting. You figure out how to fend for yourself while attending classes, avoiding authority figures, and occasionally kissing girls. The interesting story and unique setting are what I like about Bully.

Bully is school, and you are to attend two classes each day with curfew at 11 pm. Going to class is beneficial, as there are tasks to complete in class that give you bonuses. For example, doing well in gym teaches you new fighting moves and passing English (one game is a word scramble) gives you increased verbal abilities to apologize to authority figures to avoid getting busted. There is no time limit for missions or classes. Plus, as long as you dodge the prefects on campus or the police in the nearby town, you can stay out until 2 am, at which point you pass out and wake up at 8 am the next morning.

After watching the violence of other teen games, I liked that the weapons in this game are adolescent ones, such as a slingshot or itching powder. No one dies. Also, this is not one of those games that are impossible to win. No task is terribly hard and there are hidden objects and other things to keep your interest in playing again, once you do "win."

    Bully

    Created: 11/03/09
Im a big fan of Rock* games, Bully is like Grand Theft Auto if the main character was 15 and instead of a gun you get a sling shot. The game is very fun and just like GTA you roam around doing missions and earning respect and money, getting into mischief in a school setting where you try to take over as boss acquiring new save points and weapons. While you play the missions you still have to attend school classes doing match-the-button-on-the-screen type mini games and tasks to fulfill requirements. As the school year passes the weather changes, holidays pass. There are all kinds of unlockables, fighting moves and BMX bikes, go carts, plenty to keep you busy.

Not the best but solid game

    Created: 19/12/06
Overview - Bully by rockstar games is a game about a kid who gets sent to the worst prep school for bad seeds for a whole year. Basically if you played any other game by rockstar games like grand thefto auto or warriors you know how the gameplay is like. By no means is Bully a dumdowned version but a good story lined game that takes you down memory lane if you were a bully or have been bullied.

Gameplay- Lots of mini games and side quests to keep you busy. Also main story line and classes are pretty cool too. Like other rockstar games, The school in bully seems alive, and there are many things to do. Fighting is fun too, but very easy unless youre ganged by jocks.

Control- control is simple, sometimes annoying when you want to do action. For example, since at times you want to put a 'kickme' sign on a prefect and you push him instead, it brings a world of pain. Otherwise, the camera and control of your weaps and other things are fine.

Graphics- I have nothing to complain about here. Physics are fine, motions are smooth for ps2 graphics. Sometimes it lags, but doesn't bother me.

Sound and music- the sound and music fits the situation youre in, but not much variety in music. Otherwise, its ok, not annoying but not very original either.
As for sound, fits fine too, no annoying sounds.

Replay value- Depends on what u did the first time through. If you completed the game 100%, then replay is no use.

Overall, Bully is a solid game that brings gta style gameplay and graphics to a new world. However, theres nothing real new that awes me, but its a solid game and worth a try.

    Bully (PS2)

    Created: 09/11/06
First of all, I love this game, I love Rockstar, and I love open world games. However, I do not think it is appropriate for children, or even teens that act out.
The game lets you assume the life of Jimmy Hopkins, a kid who has had some tough knocks in life, and now is getting dropped of at a boarding school so his mom can run around with Jimmy's new step-dad.
You begin the game at the gates of Bullworth Academy, and the game just says go to the principals office. From this moment out you create the game. If you so choose, you can just hang out in the quad for awhile and talk to people, or hit them, or jump in fountains, or eat apples off of the ground, the choice is yours.
Of course, if you skip class, or pick on girls, or hit boys the prefects will be after you, and as the game progresses the cops might be called in as well. I was shocked the first time I bumped into a lady in the Vale and the cops grabbed me, this game is serious about crime and punishment. Which is a good thing in my opinion.
The missions are a blast, the cut scenes laugh out loud funny, and the voice acting well above par. As Jimmy you will have to do everything from bike races, to beat downs, panty raids to fetching lipstick for Cook, and of course, lots and lots of taking down the kid powers that be.
Most of the game revolves around Jimmy taking on the cliques at the school and becoming their boss. Nerds become your first loyal friends, followed by bullies and preps, greasers, and jocks.
Of course Jimmy is still expected to go to school while trying to become king of the heap at Bullworth. Classes are fun mini games, from pushing buttons as called for, or word scrambles or even a game of dodgeball. Each class you pass gives you a benefit, english improves taunting, while chemistry grants you more weapons to make, etc. Once Jimmy passes all five levels of a class he is no longer required to attend. Of course Jimmy can try to skip class, but if a prefect catches him he is sent right to school.

To wrap up, this game is great. I could not be happier with it, and I am usually pretty hard on games. This game gets my 5/5 seal.

    5/5
    + Open world gameplay
    + High replay value
+ Great side quests and mini games
+ Just plain fun to play
    + Laugh out loud funny

    - No skate board tricks
    - Lock on system sometimes off

the shmoopie's tip: To run press and hold x, of course you tire out and need to walk after a while, to avoid this tap x repeatedly, and you will sprint and never tire. This also works on bikes and skate boards.

Classic rockstar at its best :)

    Created: 21/12/10
I bought this game for my little brother its a good game.
its not as violent as the grand theft auto series but its fun enough to play over and over again.

In bully you get to play as a young boy who has been kicked out of high school numerous amounts of time his parents decide to leave em in the school bulworth academy so they can go on vacation.left alone to fend for himself. throughout his time in bullworth you will make friends and enemies your goal is to defeat the person who back stabs you and regain peace in the school yard.

so heres why to buy it:no too violent for kids to play, rockstar has always had good story modes, plenty of unlockables and hours of replay, you can do a lot of things in the game its jam packed with mini games side missions jobs and some educational classes, its a very fun game good music that goes with the game, and also the missions are very fun.if you are looking for a game your kids or yourself will love bully is the game to buy.rockstar always guarantees hours of fun and they never leave features out they pack the game with everything they can fit in the disc unlike many other games you really get your moneys worth :)
