Actually, it's difficult to hear if there is an actual concept on To Burn Together -- the album just feels like a conceptual record. Often, Miracle Mile bog down in turgid tempos, meandering instrumentals and blustered vocals, but they also have moments where they pull it all together, creating provocative art-rock landscapes in the vein of King's X. It takes a little bit of effort to find those moments on this overly long record, but for those patient listeners, there are some rewarding moments on the album. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine
