The Burning (DVD, 2007, Dual Side)

A solid slasher flick, with great effects by Tom Savini. A nasty camp caretaker is burnt during a prank gone bad, and comes back to his old stomping grounds to start offing a bunch of kids. Nothing new as for the plot, but the effects are great, the acting is pretty solid for the most part and, despite a few editing problems in the last act, the film is well shot. One of the better 80's slasher films and should be in every fan's collection.

the dragon special edition i brought for the tom savini docu,which i enjoyed,it looked to be made in the mid eighties,but the movie was faded in places in the film so i would reccommend buying the mgm dvd,thanks,david

"The Burning" is cool in the fact that it was the beginning of Mirimax, which produced some of my favorite films. The film has all the best of slasher films in one package: cool death scenes, nudity, epic opening credits, and basic slasher storyline. You can clearly tell that the film is a direct rip off of "Friday the 13th" but, when you watch the film you really don't care. If you are a fan of this genre of film I would suggest go out and buy it.

Obviously the movie is no great shakes, but its entertainment value comes from seeing Jason Alexander with hair, its better than his McDonald's comercial.
Definitely worth the price, just to see his earlier work!!!!

This is a real slasher from 80-is! If you like friday the 13:th, you gonna like this one to!!!
Here is Camp Blackfoot insted Camp Christal Lake. Insted for Jason you get a hurt camp leader wich gonna get burned, when the children should joke with him and he get burned beyond all fear.
He came out from the hospital and began to murder a hooker and then he return to Camp Blackfoot and the serialkiller beginning to butcher everybody!
I really like this movie and it´s very fun to see som many, now famous artists.
